KristenGibson_CanadianGirl - If you happen to have access to the leaves. Don't trow them away either. Can be used on soup, boiled, sauté...etc. BTW my preference is to use them in mashed green! Delicious! ;-)

So happy to find your video. The other videos all cooked or baked the pumpkin before freezing, which is fine for pumpkin pie, but not if you want the pumpkin for savory dishes.

thanks for the info. nicely explained. I have a huge pumpkin so most of it I'm going to freeze it :) does the skin become very soft once cooked? or can you tell the skin is still on?
@SasiRekhaskitchen8 жыл бұрын

Great,but every chef says cooking your pumpkin,boiling it you lose a Lot of nutrients,vitamins.. so what do I do?
@SasiRekhaskitchen Жыл бұрын
It can apply for any vegetable. Any vegetable will lose nutrients when it is boiled. So we don’t cook in too much water and discard that water. Thankyou for watching my video. Please share and subscribe.

How can you store pumpkin for 3-7days without a fridge
@kathrynmcmorrow7170 Жыл бұрын
Wash and dry the pumpkin. Remove insides. Cut the walls into 1" wide strips. Pare the skin away from the strips. Slice the strips thinly into 1/8" thick chips. Blanch the chips for 3 minutes by steaming them above or in boiling water. Cool quickly by dunking into cold water. Drain well. Dehydrate in the sun or in a dehydrator or oven on low heat settings @ 120° F maximum. Or make delicious pumpkin fruit leather by mixing cooked pureed pumpkin with honey and spices.

but pumpkin skin is very hard
@SasiRekhaskitchen8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching my video. Pumpkin skin becomes soft when it is cooked. You can not use the skin in every recipe. But in the soup kind of recipes, you can blend it easily. You can always remove the skin if you want. Please don't forget to subscribe. www.sasirekhaskitchen.com
