This comes really close to what I've been wanting for years. They absolutely were doing texture in the 70s. There's a photograph of Patti Smith holding a camera, and her hair is so gorgeously textured in such a grungy way, and I've been wanting that cut for years, but haven't been able to find any info. And then the Wolf Cut/shag mullet trend happened, and I'm finally closer to this dream cut happening.

I'll tell you, it's so weird with this haircut, practically everybody says that they know how to do this cut and practically nobody really knows how to do this old classic cut. There are so many variations of this cut and it can be hard to get it to look just like the variation that you want.

ive been Dyeing/cutting /shaving DIY my hair, And Many of my friends hair for over 25y. (old school traveling trainhoppin "kid" in my younger days(late teens/20s etc) and i havent had anyone else touch my hair for so long..i found your videos lookin for tips to create a "Joan Jett/runaways/80s" type.shaggy mullet kinda 'do. i have since subbed and really love your videos. im a visual learner..and while i am not a professional, i have done so many haircuts that i understand a lot of what you show regarding overcorrecting/sectioning/why cutting one way causes hair to end up in certaim ways..and you are a really good teacher. very easy to follow and comprehend what yr doing and WHY which i personally appreciate. so..now i am older and do my moms hair and my sons hair and they both get compliments all the time on their haircuts etc. i just enjoy it and love expressing myself with different hairstyles and colors...and thank you so much. I now have my own shaggy mulletish joan jett-y (i didnt want it to b as flat etc) and i always change things up somewhat (ex= i always mix my semi perm dyes to a customized color, because i dont ever want someone to look at me and think, "oh, that is straight Laguna Blue dye," or "that's "flamingo pink" etc- just one of my things, puttin my own touch on it..)

I just had my haircut yesterday - a short version of this cut to get rid of damage. My hair is naturally very curly, so I'm trying to figure out how to do this style without damaging heat (as I sit here with big curlers in my hair - lol). Challenging! I love this hairdresser's character and his love for his métier. Let's forget about his good looks and his sexy hair(cut)... And yes, I could smell the Kérastase Cream 🤣 I call this cut , I've done it yesterday but I need more... So now I'm transforming it into my so-called < Viking Mullet>. My head is big, like... long and kind of square and this cut is annoying for my facial features. Plus I have wide blue eyes and it doesn't flatter them at all, it makes them appear tiny. I need to break the structures in the upper part in a more courageous way. Thank you for the Tutorial, always good ones!

how to do it with scissors if no razor?

It will not look the same with scissors and plus if you are trying it yourself, it will be Incredibly hard to slither scissors. You need wicked sharp scissors to slither down the length. I suggest you let a professional with good razor techniques to do this

Yet, as cosmetologists, we know most affordable shampoos and products contain sulfates which are too alkaline for our acidic bodies. So.. here's been my question... How is alkaline water, therefore, Being marketed as a trending expensive health fad??? There better be some kind of reverse osmosis science going on lol.... I be the breaker!! And no.. not breaker of the hair neither! Lol Nan.. i wish i could cone see you for some super edgy unique style!! My hair is so thick and dense, its straight up fun lol! So yeah.. i need to have DIY fun - thank you for your "clear cut" tutorials!! Fabulous Yes.. invent the smell-o- scope smart/ phone /PC etc while your at it!! Go all the way or go home (?) Yeah.. i always learned to flat iron/ silk the hair before refining/ adding layers/ texturizing... Lol or just do it right to begin with.... (why i usually liked just cutting dry- but with the razor the ends will poof out even more to start with- my hair does that too- Yeah.. now I'm seeing the necessecity for that really nice blunt even cut, only acheivable with wet hair -) and then not dealing with hair sliver crazy weather is nice too
