Banana blossom, also known as banana flower or banana heart, offers several potential health benefits. Here are some key benefits associated with consuming banana blossom: Banana blossom is a good source of various essential nutrients. It contains important vitamins like vitamin C, vitamin E, and vitamin A. It also provides minerals such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, and iron. Additionally, it contains dietary fiber, which is beneficial for digestive health. Also it contains Antioxidant properties, Supports heart health, Manages diabetes, Supports digestion, Supports weight management, Potential anti-inflammatory effects etc.
Banana blossom chutney is a delicious condiment made from the edible flower of the banana tree. Here's a simple recipe to make banana blossom chutney and stir fry:
Chutney - Ingredients:
1 medium-sized banana blossom dark skin
1/2 lemon size tamarind
1/2 lemon size(1 tbsp) Jaggery or brown sugar
5-6 Dried Red chilli (adjust according to your spice preference)
1 teaspoon peppercorn
1/2 cup fresh coconut
Salt to taste
1 tablespoon oil
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon urad dal
1 broken red chilli
1 sprig curry leaves
2-4 garlic cloves, minced
Water (as needed)
Stir fry - Ingredients:
1 medium-sized banana blossom tender part and it white flower
chopped, and washed
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp chilli powder
1 large grape size tamarind
1 large grape size(2tsp) Jaggery or brown sugar
1/4 cup fresh coconut
Salt to taste
2 tea spoon oil
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon urad dal
1 broken red chilli
1 sprig curry leaves
Water (as needed)
