Show this video to my husband, he recommended to get this brand as well, which we did. He then showed me how to use it. He has one but for heavier work. This one of for meeeeee. So much better than using a xacto knife. You just save my hands from cramping over a knife

I saw that you have a light attached to the saw. where did you purchase the light from. I just ordered a saw exactly like yours and I want the light too but it doesn't come with it.thanksp.s. how much does your dad charge for the stand?
@krazykoolcakes8 жыл бұрын
Hi Linda! This Craftsman scroll saw came with the light. He charges $800 for the stand. He would just need the exact measurements of your saw base. Let me know if you're interested. :)

Do you ever get your cake boards back to be reused or is it always a new one every time?

That's a great question Susan. We never ask for them back. They're very inexpensive so really no need. :) Thank you for watching!

I LOVE your videos, I've learned a lot and I've been making specialty cakes for at least 6 years now. My question is, I guess this must really save money as opposed to buying cake drums? I buy cake drums, and yes, they add a significant cost to my cakes. Is it worth it?
@krazykoolcakes10 жыл бұрын
Thank you Susan! :) Yes, it is worth it. :)

Thank you. I have always had a scroll saw and it never occurred to me to use it for my cake boards. ..Duh!!! I do love my stand though. I use a section of base cabinets from a kitchen remodel. Just screwed through the old piece of countertop to secure it. Added bonus is additional storage underneath with the drawers.

Can you put a bare cake on these boards or do you have to cover them first and if so what could I cover it with Tia
@krazykoolcakes8 жыл бұрын
A cake should always be on its own cardboard cake board ( the same size as the cake itself), then that can be placed on the foam core board. :)

Is there any way to do this with out a saw. I live in a tiny apartmebt abd have no where to put saw lol
@krazykoolcakes10 жыл бұрын
You can use an Xacto knife but it will take forever and be extremely tedious. Trust me, I know. You can store your saw under a table. :)
@sharonalicea799810 жыл бұрын
how much weight would it stand (what's the biggest cake you have used the board for)
@krazykoolcakes10 жыл бұрын
We've used these boards with up to 5 tier cakes. The heaviest cake we've used these for was about 90 lbs. If you're making a huge wedding cake that weighs over 100 lbs. you can easily glue 2 boards together. I've done that as well and worked perfectly. :)

When you buy your foam core boards do they have a shin coating on them ? I'm asking because when covering them with fondant you have to put shortening on it and I'm wondering will it still adhere because my boards have a matte finish.
