I'm curious about the scissors as well. I have thinning shears but not 'evos' or whatever they are called. My hair is thin, sort of, so would rather not be too thin and stringy on the bottom. Not sure how to handle that part.

Just did this, had to do 5 minutes of minor touch ups afterwards but it turned out perfect, honestly better than most salon haircuts I’ve gotten. Word of advice to those trying, make sure you part the hair as precisely as possible, I spent the most time on that part because it’s so important. Also took breaks between cuts because keeping your arms up gets tiring quick and when you are tired you get lazy and are prone to uneven chops. I took my sweet time making sure I got the most perfect, even soft cut. This is a great technique and I highly recommend it, good luck!

On the other video he just point cuts but you can get those thinning shears anywhere. I would suggest them for bulky/thick hair but I have fairly thin hair so I’m going to use my normal haircut scissors and point cut.

Pull the back high ponytail forward towards the front of your face then use your 2 fingers as the ruler to cut across instead of holding the ponytail up above your head. That's what all the girls did on the TikTok videos I watched and then did it to myself. It's much easier. I was trying to find a video to cut my daughter's hair then saw this and showed her this how I've been cutting my hair and she ended up wanting me to do it to hers. Came out even and perfect she loved it. ❤️ Thank you!

@frinaa
@frinaa 3 ай бұрын
@@val_lou i used the nose hair scissor as it is small and looks alike with the fancy serrated scissor. for the comb-like blade, i use normal hair comb. Just comb your hair and stop at the spot where you want to cut, use your 2 fingers to mark and aligns it. then cut in front of your 2 fingers. Just a heads up, make sure the scissor is not dull, your arm will get sore when you try to cut it as dull scissors will slow the process, eventually making it uneven. This tutorial is the real deal. BEST HAIRCUT OF MY LIFE, no joke. I was a bit conservative with the initial chop but then I shortened the fringe a little more. The layers were even, it framed my face perfectly, and gave me really nice layers. My hair has a 2A-2B wave to it and this haircut gives me some really nice definition. Trust the process!

Can confirm this works with long hair! Took about two inches from front pony and one inch from back pony. Gave me beautiful layers in the back and lightened the bulk around my face. So easy. I had been feeling like my hair was wearing me and was ready to chop it all off but decided to play around with it a bit first. So glad I did. It looks sexy, feels so much healthier and somehow looks longer.

I’ve used this tutorial like 10 times for 2 years absolutely perfect, I get compliments all the time. I have so many tips for this if you’re Gunna be using it for a while, like make sure the two floofs of hair are even to each other so the fade to the bottom layers are natural, and if you have bangs put them in a separate tiny ponytail, and cut as usual, you can even go shorter than in this video and it looks super cute.

I watched this video all the way through one time then decided to try it. Parting my hair that way was a bit challenging but it looks AMAZING. My hair is even thin and it still rocks this look. Other than the Emo cut this is my new favorite. And way simpler than the Emo cut 🤣🤣

@marintiny

I followed this tutorial exactly and my hair looks amazing! It really didn't take long at all. For reference, my hair is on the longer side, about 15-16 inches, and is a bit on the thicker side. I know a lot of people were asking in the comments, but I used a decent, medium-sized pair of what you'd consider your average household scissors (usually always do), and they did the job perfectly. I also kept my hair dry like in the video. I followed the guide on around how many inches to cut off both ponytails, even though my hair was longer, but it didn't affect how great the layers looked. I 100% could have cut off more inches, but I'm happy with how it turned out. My length also remained intact, which is still crazy to me how that works, but my hair is still long, but with added beautiful layers. Also, my hair is quite straight, but the layers gave it such dimension and volume. I could honestly rock it straight, but I know once I add more volume, it will look incredible. I highly recommend doing this if you're on the fence, and if you're nervous, just take your time. You definitely won't regret it.

@@angrybird5699 Absolutely! You'd probably have to make a few adjustments with the amount you cut off, possibly having to redo the process a few times until you're happy with how your layers look. If you decide to do it, I'm sure it will look great! Good luck!

Just did this on myself in like 2 minutes with some kitchen scissors. Despite my super dodgy job of sectioning and tying the hair, and even dodgier job of cutting it basically blind without a mirror, it still came out amazingly. Really is idiot proof. Source: Am an idiot.

For those who have thick hair, but is anxious about the result, trust me it's gonna look good! Give it a tryy! Ive watched this wolf and the butterfly cut back to back multiple times and cant see the difference
@LindaDerrick-b7j
@LindaDerrick-b7j 2 ай бұрын
There is a difference. The butterfly cut is more pointed at the end in the back and your hair is less at the ends. That's why I'm choosing the wolf cut. Also the butterfly cut is more even before the ponytails are cut The elastics are even. The wolf cut is not. The butterfly cut is more contoured to your face with style, however the ends are much more whispy.

I did this. One piece of advice. Make sure you have Good scissors. I bough a new pair (Superdrug). Couldn’t point cut. Or do the cuts perfectly. And still, love it. Despite the fact I will need to retouch. As someone else said. Take your time with the sectioning. I recommend washed dry hair. Shall be my go to cut. No more hairdressers as I have never had a cut I like. They always cut off too much length. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Bet wouldn’t though. Big ❤️ Paul. You are a Hairsaver! 🙏🏼
