For fitted trousers, it is constant But if you want a bigger crotch depth or a smaller one, you could choose to add or subtract from the 3" that was added. You're welcome ❤️

You went further by adding 2 inches to the divided thigh which is 11 for the front pattern while adding 4.5 for the back pattern right.. so my question is this my thigh measurement is 26 when divided by 2 is 13 right.. So am asking if I should add the exact 2 inches U added to yours for the front pattern or reduce to 1.5 or 1

You could use the same numbers for everyone. Except you want the shorts to be more fitted or loose, then you would either decrease what you add, or increase what you add, respectively

I think you should watch to the end where there was brief clip of me pleating the shorts, or/and watch the follow up sewing video. This was a pattern video and there are pleats on the shorts I wore in the introductory part of this video
