Why does the pants leg twist sometimes?

@@sofiliablucher4373 Coincidentally I watched a video yesterday, that explained how to make sure the grain hasn't been distorted in storage etc (wonky fabric makes wonky clothes). First fold the fabric selvidge edge to edge, do the ends match straight too? If not, flatten fabric, pull a thread near one end across one end until it puckers, and cut across, keep pulling/puckering as you go, knowing the pulled thread is straight, then refold selvidge to selvidge, all sides and ends should now be straight, therefore your clothes will also be straight, (as long as you make sure your pattern's centre line runs straight down the straight thread of the fabric (or at right angles across). If you don't put the pattern on straight, your fabric will pull sideways when worn. Hope this helps?

Thank you very much! Another youtuber linked to this after his video made some modifications. Both are very good. I like that you backed up and repeated some steps to make it clear what you were doing. I briefly had an introduction to sewing 30+ years ago in school but it didn't go into much detail. Nothing on how to draft patterns or adjust for our own sizes. I've seen some other videos on how to draft leggings and how to get the waist to crotch measurement differently-- putting a string around the waist, holding a ruler parallel to the floor between the legs, and measuring down to the top of the ruler on both front and back (to figure out which distance is longer). In one tutorial someone used rolled up tin foil to mold to the seat area to get the curve for the crotch. I'm looking forward to your next video on how to sew the pants.

I tried your method which is very easy to follow. First draft wasn’t good. Re-measured self and discovered my mistake in making my waist measurement too short. I easily adjusted the pattern by slashing above the hip line and adding the missing 1.5 inches... it worked and i now have the basic pattern I have always wanted so I can sew pants that fit.
