I wish you would call out which shortcut keys you are using. Would definitely help total newbies like me

I found your video on google and came to youtube just to give you thumbs up. You're a life saver for non-designers like me.

OMG. Why did I never think of this before? The knife and slice tools were continuously destroying the integrity of my model. But a boolean knife is perfect. THANK YOU

I'm glad you did this, I did try that myself without tutorials a couple of weeks ago and my results was at best mediocre and weird

Subscribed, your presentation was clean and succinct, well done.

Thanks so much for this. How can I slice in have using only a plane? So that I do not loose material from the gap cut? I searched these words but only found you. Cant use knife because I have to make a cut in a small dent line - on a long object and cant reach the other end, when I zoom in so close.

That is really cool, but isn't it way easier with just having one model and using shape keys?
@MrCheebs3 жыл бұрын
That could work depending on your situation, but swapping the meshes for a rigid body simulation would be rather difficult.

Little late to party here, but had a quick question if anyone has a second. at 4:26, the gradient from knife is spread along top of banana. I get it, that part's closest to knife, but why doesn't that entire white area at top become transparent as knife goes through it? That part threw me for a loop. thanks for any thoughts. actually, at 4:43, it does just that. think I missed a piece.

So I just tried the Boolean trick. The object is cut into two in Object Mode, but when I switch to Edit Mode, it's still one piece (and Ctrl+L selects all of it).
