How to Cut Wood Rings with your Bandsaw/Router

In this video, I show you how to cut out a ring out of MDF for a wooden sign.
To cut the inner circle, I use my DeWALT Router with the Milescraft Large Circle Jig.
To cut the outer circle, I use my 10" Rikon Bandsaw with the Simple Circle Cutter from ‪@StockroomSupply‬ . Use code OFSIMPLE to save on the jig!

Well I am on the right track! I just cut my first circle using my dewalt plunge router and milescradt circle jig. I used the plunge router and 1/2" mdf. I didn't know that I could just use the reg router with the milescraft jig.

It depends! The DeWALT router is around $300 CAD I believe so is less expensive than a bandsaw (mine was around $750 I believe). The router can cut the outside circle too so it’s a good place to start! I upgraded to a bandsaw once I started selling more and needed to work a bit faster!

I just cut my first circle with the Dewalt router. I have the routeR, plunge base and Milescraft jig. See my comment above. The router and plunge base were $200 in USA. The jig was a gift but I don't think it was very expensive.

Yes absolutely! The router works for both. The bandsaw is a bit quicker since you only do one pass but if you don’t have a bandsaw router is amazing for both!
