I have watched a lot of videos and this is the best tutorial for taking off length - even for wavy thick hair. I can add layers or whatever later. I just needed length gone (and apx 5lbs of hair) that was even. You are a great teacher. I'd love to see a someone with a different hair type for a bathroom (theirs or yours) style/color while you talk us through it. I'd volunteer if I were closer.

@rowad2292 Ugh. I've been considering cutting my own hairs too. I've had so much trauma from other people messing it up that I started cosmo school so I can do my own 😂 but I haven't had a Trim or cut in over 5 years so my waist length(curly) hair is literally apart of me so I'm still stressing about even trimming it. But maybe your comment was a sign from the universe to just do it!!

Thank you very much! I have not cut my hair for two years due to the pandemic, but also because I really hate going to get my hair done. As an introvert, it is hard to be there, express what I want. Often the stylist cuts it wrong, or decides that my beautiful long shouldn’t be cut too much. Or they seem to gleefully take way more off then I asked. I did it myself, first time cutting my hair, it wasn’t a perfect try, but it is the best hair cut I have ever had. Definitely gave me a lot of confidence. So thank you!

Great video thx i just cut my hair in 2 sessions within 2nths in between each trim as i had really long hair & was scared to just go shorter. Plus the shock of cutting that much off i needed to get used to it in 2 sessions. So,i cut 6-7" on the 1st cut then 8" on the 2nd cut. I now love my length!! I saved a lot of money by doing it myself! My hair is curly & all 1 length except my side bangs. Your video has now showed me how to blend my long bangs into the front length of my hair. Thx

Thank you so much for helping people. I am soooo happy with the way my hair turned out from your tutorials. The salon industry (at least in my state anyway) has implemented new laws that each stylist practices independently or something. There are hardly any salons open because I guess they all rent a station, and so there not staffing with a receptionist or taking walk-ins. Not sure how that'll work long-term for customer service. The good news is I found your channel!!! :-)

I found your review thorough and helpful. However, after trimming my own hair using your recommendations and instructions, I ended up with a slight dip in my cut in the very middle of my back. Any ideas on what went wrong?
@ivyrose779 Жыл бұрын
I know you commented a year ago but, if I had to guess, I would say that you didn’t use a steep enough angle with your fingers in the very beginning. Since the hair from the back of the hair has to come forward it would end up being longer if you cut it straight across with the front hair even though they were cut together. Cutting it at an angle with the front pieces being longer counteracts that so the front and back end up being the same length. If you don’t angle it enough the back will end up being longer. Hope that makes sense!
@staykind8185 Жыл бұрын

YAY girl that's what I love to hear!!!! you tell them you went to the KZbin salon LOL!!! Yes! I always wear it, it technically belongs on the left wrist, but it gets in the way of my watch. I am right handed. It has different meanings, depending on religion (I'm not religious but I do enjoy Buddhism and would pick that one if someone made me pick a crew to be in) In Buddhism it's a reminder to practice compassion at all times and that we are all interconnected. No one is better, no one is worse- we are all brothers and sisters. ❤️❤️

@@BrittneeAlexus oh yes, I am familiar with the use of it in both Buddhism and Kabbalah. Both very interesting and both are paths I have explored as well! I love your explanation, most folks don't know much about it outside of Kabbalah, we can thank old Madge for that one, lol. I don't have a religion, but I'm sort of a Taoist, Hermetic, Druidic, Yogic Witch, lol. I haven't come up with a catchy word for it, but I'm guessing there's a Japanese word because there seems to be a Japanese word for just about everything, lol.

Hiya Brittnee, you did a fab job & are an amazing teacher! Curls don’t stay in my hair no matter how much/what kind of styling product I use😕. I’m curious as you’re much younger than me; where you taught point, slide cutting when in cosmetology school? When I went back in the dark ages (around ‘83) I’d get yelled at for cutting hair my way as I started cutting my own & friends around age 9 & point cutting in particular was a technique I’d use on my & friends hair to get it spiky (I’m an OG punk). Eventually after seeing my work they had me teach classes (stupid me didn’t ask for pay) but never integrated what was then considered “unorthodox” techniques into the curriculum. Watching an old late ‘30s classic film last week I noticed the hair cut/style was *exactly* the same as the one we had to do for the state boards! Wtf? Was it different when/where you took your state boards? I take 10,000 mcgs of biotin + prenatal multivitamins to help w/ my hair thinning. Seems to help a bit, but want to try Lee Stafford’s (from the UK he has a US site) line for hair growth next as I’ve been a huge fan of his salons, products for about 20 years. As always, you bring smiles & laughter into my sorely lacking life, thank you! Jet 🧡🎸🎶⚡️

Hi 👋 do you have a video on how to put extensions and where to get them. Specifically for my hair it’s really blond. Places near me I can’t ever find my color 🥴 but don’t go by this picture of me my hair now is up to my shoulders 😘

Yes! kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnTGiayNZttokK8 These are from Amazon (link is in that videos description box) don't worry about the shade being a tad off when you buy them- they never match. A quick violet shampoo will match them. Make sure to get at least two packs
