Hello Brad Mondo, I wanted to know if you can make a haircut video (butterfly, Sabrina carpenter, etc.) on a wig that you wear?...as if you were giving yourself the cut....because there are many people looking for your videos to make a cut themselves, and sometimes it doesn't turn out the same when it is explained on a mannequin or a model...I think it could help to see how to do it the cut to oneself....I think it would be a great video.....I love your channel very much, many greetings from Chile ......sorry if English is not good, help me with the translator

Having curly hair myself, I find it simpler to straighten than try to guess how short my hair will look dry.
@ashnicole60966 ай бұрын
@alainavedder curly cuts typically are recommended as dry cuts so that you see how short it will be in its natural state. If you straighten it and then cut it, you won't know how it's gonna look unless you straighten it daily and never wear it curly.
@timduch16 ай бұрын
@@ashnicole6096 I agree with that - although since I have been doing this for myself since COVID-19, I now get a better feel for the length I want with my curly hair. But yes, it matters how curly your hair is and the curl direction if that's a factor like mine - takes some practice to know your own hair and where the strange curls live or where there might be thinner/straighter parts so you can make adjustments. And sometimes i don't know about you but I need to make adjustments after I style sometimes :-)

As someone with thick textured hair I don’t like cutting my hair wet because my hair is totally different dry. Cutting dry can be chaotic too and I avoid flat ironing. HOWEVER cutting my hair while deep oiling is perfect. It smooths out my hair but I can still see how my hair wants to naturally fall.

It is going viral, considering I never watch haircut videos. I got recommended this, and I'm not complaining. I never cut my hair, but during COVID, my mom used to cut my hair, and I used to cut hers. After we learned how to cut our hair, we generally don't go to a salon now, until it's a really big function(like someone's wedding). Now I'm out of the city for studies, so I now don't go for haircut, until it's like a new year. Maybe next time I'm home, I can ask my mom to cut my hair like this. She really loves layers and waves, so this is a really good one.

Thanks for this one, Brad. I've done the unicorn type cut for years and it's never failed me. I tried a butterfly last year and switched back to the unicorn again because it just works better for me. It's never occurred to me to cut my hair upwards instead of straight across, I'm sad to say, and I just hacked off an inch or so perpendicular. my layers and shape look great. I wasn't trying to get this particular look with the curtain bangs, but i loved the front of this with the second cut. It really helped me with the shape of the grown out butterfly and I can't wait to style it tomorrow. It was the balance I think I needed. And I didn't point cut it! 😂 I had done a trim about a month ago and something just felt "off". This fixed it. Thanks again.

Thank you so much for this tutorial, I tried it and it works!!! 🥳 My wavy hair has some very old outgrown layers, lately I've been cutting it in a U shape by myself. I was planning to cut my hair in long layers for a long time and searched all over the youtube for a tutorial. Other tutorials where either just unicorn or showing some complicated professional techniques. What I liked about this one is that it's using not only the unicorn, but also the ponytail method and a piece of longest hair as a guide! I tried this yesterday. First I straightened my hair with a hot air brush. As you have to hold the ponytail tense and at an angle, I asked my husband to help me, cause my hair is long and it is difficult to reach that far by myself. It was really easy for him! I did cut maybe 3-4 cm less than I should according to the hair guide in the front pony cause I didn't want the layers to be too extreme. The result was great, the layers are visible and even, I only connected them a little bit in the front to make them less choppy. The only downside was that my bottom hair that remained original length now looked a little stringy compared with fullness of layers sitting on top of it. Though it's completely optional, I easily fixed it by taking some weight off the bottom of chunkiest layers in the back with thinning shears and cutting the length a bit in a U shape as I always do (the beard method 😁). So I lost about 4-5 cm of length, but now the haircut looks complete and amazing! My advice is to cut the length in the very end so you can even out the overall shape if needed. If you're not sure which hair will be cut, you can always wet the tip you're about to cut, let the hair out and see which places are wet and that would be gone by cutting and decide whether it suits you.

Nice cut. It reminds me of Farrah Fawcett's cut from the 1970's.

The second pony where the hair is overdirected towards the forehead is actually how her cut was done! Some variations also did round layering in the back like this cut almost emulates with the 135 degree angle for long layers.

I’ve never posted my haircuts and I always cut my own, but this one will prob be it. ❤ My hair is extremely curly (3a/b), thick and down to my butt with a VERY grown out “shaggy-fly” cut. I pretty much have always cut it in that style. It’s time for a refresh!

For those of us not super talented with curling irons or round brushes, hot rollers (mine are about 1 1/2" in diameter) work really well for this look!

I’m definitely going to try this one tonight. I think it will look great on my thick,wavy to curly hair. I already have my cheap dollar store hair scissors. 😊

Me not having idea who Sabrina Carpenter is or what the haircut is, still sitting down and watching only to see a diy version of the haircut i have right now. I have been wondering how to get long layers by myself for years never finding a simple tutorial on it. I guess i now know how to keep this haircut lol. Thank you Brad!
