When the Nitrates are present how high should they be? Do I need to do a water exchange after the cycle is finished?
@brandonplank42333 жыл бұрын
I keep my nitrates around 10-20ppm

can you have too much nitrite during a cycle, I'm currently cycling a 100 gallon and didn't realise I had a fault ammonia test kit till I had dosed too much, now I have extremely high nitrite and I'm not sure if it will affect the cycle in a negative way other than making it take longer. any advice would be much appreciated

I feel like at this point Reef Builders should come out with a highly advertised video so everyone watches because people seem to believe they’re the gurus and follow as they say - with that being said it’s time to retire the old FRESHWATER dos and don’ts that saltwater takes away their “cycling steps” from . I see too many comments online: “your tank is too young for coral “ or “you have to let it cycle and have patience “ Throw in your live sand and your rock and toss in a handful of frags - done . It’s that simple. you can add fish the same day if you wish but if you must wait- simply wait a week max and add whatever fish you please . Starting your “cycle” with coral absolutely 100% matures your tank much faster and there is no “nuke” everyone is so afraid of by adding corals once your temp and salinity is stable. That’s all you do- temp and salinity stable = add coral and take off .
