I think you have made a mistake, see, you are supposed to slightly hunch over with your arms fully extend them and swing them up and down opposite to each other. After repeating that, you would then bring your arms in at an angle, keeping one arm closer to your face than the other, and twisting your torso one way, and your legs another way, while your knees are also at an angle.
