@xRozaHD yes and no! when you deactivate, you can't use downloaded content any more.. but when you reactivate your account. you can use mappacks, games etc again

it depends .. what do you wanna do?? get some games from a friend or give him your games? deactivation is only needed when an account was too often activated and xmb = cross media bar. the playstation menu

@1Blakparade yes and no back in the day, it was possible to activate accounts on 5 consoles.. but since 11/18, it's only possible to activate your account on 2 consoles.. this means: everything bought before 11/18 can be used on 5 consoles.. everything bought after 11/18 can only be activated on 2 consoles.. so if you wanna give someone content that was bought after this date, you have to deactivate

yeah, because this video was created with firmware 3.55. back in the day the system told you if the account was activated or not.. it doesn't do that anymore

I think you don't get it.. you can play as long as HIS account is activated on HIS console for example: he (A) buys GTA, he gives his account to a friend (B), now A and B can play as much as they want, also simultaneously. When A deactivates, and you (C) activate, B and C can play as much as you want. If B deactivates and A activates, A and C can play as much as they want, even simultaneously.

yeah.. but the other one can't use the game anymore.. for example you (A) buy the game and give it to B, then it's activated on 2 consoles. If C wants to play it, either A or B has to deactivate. But if you deactivate an system, you can't use any bought content anymore

Deactivating a PS3 won't remove anything anything from the PS3 other than the ability to play the games from your account, so nothing physical ( games, dlc) would be affected and friends are tied to the account, not the ps3 so there.
