How to Deactivate Toyota Tire Pressure Light

A video that took a year to make. Which I apologize for.
Works with any Toyota that has the single light in the cluster with the TPMS ECU behind the glovebox.
Tire pressure monitoring systems are a good idea when put into proper practice. When a screen tells all the info you need and which tire is low. But, when its just an idiot light that requires a shop to check them its a fail. The single light can be permanently shut off with just a 3.3k ohm 1/4w resistor.

I appreciate your help in getting that light off. 150,000 miles on my Corolla does NOT make changing those overpriced valve stems or their little batteries. Believe it or not, in the dark ages, we checked tire pressure periodically and manually.

Many thanks! Got the resistor and installed it as instructed. Worked like a charm! This alleviated me from spending money on something that I can visually check every now and then! Now just gotta figure out how to do it on a Tacoma!

Thanks 84hachi! Worked on my 2008 rav4. Blue wire and pink wire resistor trick. It didn't work at first because the resistor didn't make a connection at first, but worked after a tight connection.

There’s another video by ‘cadillac chad’ with a 2010 rav4 and he says connect the pink to the RED. I have a 2011 so I dunno who’s correct.

I am because I got this info from this forum post, Post 22 www.rav4world.com/threads/how-to-disable-tpms-how-to-turn-off-tpms-light.85538/page-2 If you want the quickest way to turn the light off, by-pass everything and pull the cluster out and clip the pink wire going into it and put everything back.

If you have just the idiot light for the low tire pressure then yes.

2008 but works with all Toyota's that just have the idiot light on the dash.
