The previous owner of my 2006 Tundra did the same thing as you - but he did it on the ABS and Airbag warning lights instead. I've had it for 7 years now, and just figured it out 2 weeks ago. Ha!

This is a simple solution for an unnecessary problem, I have same problem on my GX470 and this is easier to do than replace all five sensors. But if you don’t regularly check tire pressure, it’s better to have that light until you replace the sensors.

When he commented about not doing it for anybody else that is a good practice because I believe it is also illegal for a shop to disable any safety system in a vehicle for a customer such as seatbelts airbags or TPMS

Nice but please what I can do to "hack" tire pressure sensors when I have to go on State Technical Check which is compulsory in Europe and they conect to OBD to read all wrong codes frm ECU

I don't know Europe requirements...this is not showing in ECU , this Sequoia has no codes and is ready to SMOG in USA

I replaced my sensors with regular valve stems. The light stays on all the time but that is less annoying than constant blinking.

I removed the original spare and put another spare in the trunk and the the dash board light started flashing .I put the original back in and the light went out. It appears the tire systems are looking for 5 sensors of the same brand to work properly.

I got all 5 TPMS sensors at Discount Tire for $120 installed, relearning them and no more light on I also purchased Michelin tires with them so he gave me a deal on the sensors
@eflem77083 жыл бұрын
You must have a pretty honest mechanic that you go to. Because in my area most mechanics would be at about $120 just in the cost of 2 of the sensors. So then add on the other 2 or 3 sensors. Thennn you also tack on the mount and balance of all the wheels as well(15-20 dollar bills). Then if you're a female they find other bogus expensive repairs to give your vehicle

way too much work for no real fix or clearing. If you decide to buy new sensors in the future, you'd have to open up the cluster again. I'd rather just ignore my light. video is a bit lengthy.
@ivanf45684 жыл бұрын
So how can this be fixed not hacked?
@Lunas25252 жыл бұрын
There is 3 ways 1. Pay for new sensors every 2-3 years 2. Ignore/cover the light 3. There is a wire bypass by bridging two points with a series of resistors on the tpms box you can turn it off
@awakeandalive42482 жыл бұрын
@@Lunas2525. So if I just ignore and place like a round dark sticker over the area where it flashes I should be good to go right, it will be just like an older car that doesn't have the stupid sensors right 🤔🤔🤔 my 2008 corolla just a few days ago after I filled up the tires because they were very low but light came on an hour later but tire pressure was fine, I tried resetting it but no luck, I'm running out of options and as long as is not mandatory to have this stupid thing working covering it seems like the better option, doing the procedure of this video is time consuming and risky.

Dude, all that work for the TPMS? You can get a programmer, find out which one is bad by replacing it then reprogramming it.
@dickgozinya92283 жыл бұрын
That's fine until the next sensor goes bad. TPMS is stupid. Anybody who is too incompetent to check their own tire pressure has no business operating a motor vehicle.
@twistedvette13 Жыл бұрын
@@dickgozinya9228 so, if your driving and the starts flashing because a few miles back, you ran something over and now your tire is going down, and the TPMS warns you before you do damage to your tire, that makes you stupid? Yes, I'm describing an actual event that happened in my wife's SC430. Look in the mirror to see stupid, Dick

@awakeandalive42482 жыл бұрын
Lol 😆🤣😂 before you remove anything know this from my experience with Camrys and now my 2008 corolla, I have learned that you can get a false check engine light and just recently 4 days ago the tire pressure light came on 30 minutes after inflating tires because they were a little low but light wasn't on so I put 33 psi of air about 3 psi higher than recommended, so after checking air pressure tires were fine but light was on so I watched several videos including one from this guy on a 2008 corolla just like mine on how to reset it and nothing worked light would blink for 90 seconds and then stay on solid so I decided I didn't want to purchased the sensors and just when I had a nice round piece of tape to place over the light, I get in my car and turned on the ignition but didn't start the car after a couple of seconds the light disappeared so I wonder if it would stay off after starting car and it did I'm a food delivery driver so I turned off and on the car several times and light never came on again, so I would suggest give it a week after you tried resetting it, don't start taking things apart and buying parts you don't need if it doesn't go away after a couple of weeks, put some tape like I was, ignore it or fix it, on the check engine light if you have obd2 scanner erase codes or disconnect negative battery cable if check engine light doesn't come back on after driving for one or 3 days check with obd 2 scanner to see if it completed all monitors and if everything is green you're good to go, there's various reasons that can cause a false positive check engine light to come on, too many to write down but I can give examples if anyone cares to know.
