I bought all of my supplies at Spinettis Gambling Store. The link to their website is in the info section below the video. They have good quality items for a cheap price. I love these guys.

How interesting! In the past I had no problem paying with dirty money, but casinos have to be more strict than that.

Excellent video, thanks! Also, part 3 has been deleted for "violating community guidelines." I'll go to the full version, I guess...

And then after you break down the bet, reach into the rack, grab the converted amount (1 green 2 red) and then pay that amount next to the broken down bet. When you pay the bet you could either pay it side-by-side or you could heel it. Then leave everything broken down because it is the players responsibility to take the winnings and stack up his cheques for his next bet.

One of the jobs as a dealer is to reorganize your working stack after every hand and before you start a new one. That way when the player asks you for change, your working stacks have already been reorganized and all you have to pay him with are clean stacks. If the guy wants change while you are in the middle of a hand then never pay the customer with your working stack. Always pay him with your clean stack (cheques already divided into stacks of 20)

If anyone is planning to work anywhere other than the US here are some tips: They are called chips. Use the pinky finger to make clean cuts, this will also encourage feeling for chips. Sizing in shouldn't move what you're sizing into. Never pluck for more than three chips.

Yes. If the dealer has to hit a soft 17 then they would, in fact, hit an A, 3, 2, A. As a dealer, it doesn't matter how many cards you have, if the total equals a soft 17 then the dealer will need to hit it.

I thought the same thing when I first started. But a floorman told me that because the camera men have a different angle of the table, it's easier for them to read a proper stack. The camera men can read a stack of 1 - 5 cheques easily but when the chips are splashed they actually have to sit there and count the chips out, making it harder for them to do their jobs. Also it's considered rude to splash the chips towards a player.

Efficiency is important when it comes to procedure and muscle memory but because this is a customer service type of industry a positive attitude and friendly personality goes a long way.
@VegasAces

When the dealer has an unruly guest, the procedure is to call over the floorman and explain to him the facts of the situation. It's best to remain neutral and quiet and then let the floorman handle it. Don't question what the floorman instructs you to do, just do it. It's in your best interest as a dealer, not to add fuel to the fire. If you go to my website I have a bunch of stories of the kind of shit some people would pull.

Hi! Both $1,000 cheques and $5,000 cheques are broken down into 4 stacks of 5 cheques each with the last stack being broken down even further into 2 stacks of 2 cheques each and one bridged on top. 2-2-1 No, I have never handled plaques. I dealt in high limit a couple times and the highest denomination I dealt with was $25,000 cheques.

If you are paying color-for-color then you don't need to break down the stack of cheques. Just size into the bet with the stack of reds in your hand and then move on to the next bet.

No worries :) The only way we can learn is if we ask questions, right? When you break down a stack of cheques it is usually because you are proving the amount to the cameras because you are going to convert that payout to a higher denomination cheque. So if the player has 7 red cheques & you want to pay him 1 green cheque & 2 red cheques then you would first break down the players bet (3-3-1 with the last cheque being on the side or bridged depending on your house rules) (Continue below)

Two questions. First, would a $1,000 "mini-stack" be five chips (cheques), or $5,000? Second, have you ever handled gaming "plaques" (the rectangular-shaped chips/cheques that are like $5,000, $10,000, $25,000, or $100,000)?

Well, that shouldn't be a problem, I worked in fast food. You mentioned drunk angry men. I heard a story about a dealer getting cards thrown at her face, (and it was pai gow, so there were a lot more cards to throw). What is the best way to handle a person who is becoming increasingly hostile or even violent? Is it ever appropriate for a dealer to call security? or is that the floor's responsibility? Have you ever had a player behave violently towards you? how did you handle it?

"Chip" is used when the clay disc has no monetary value. For example, the chips used at a friends poker night game. The term "cheque" is used when that clay disc does have monetary value. For example, the cheques you get at a casino that you can turn in at the cage and get cash in exchange. Or, in other words: Chip = Worthless Cheque = Money

The way I would handle it is I would act like a robot, like there was nothing in this world that could hurt or offend me. I would smile and be overly pleasant. This would piss them off even more and then they couldn't complain to my supervisor asking him to write me up because I said "Yes, Sir".

Hi NstGuitarist! I'm so sorry it took me so long to respond to you. Usually when the dealer is loud with the cheques it is when he is collecting all of the losing bets and placing them into the metal rack. Players consider this to be rude since it is a reminder of their recent loss.

Remember, majority of your players will be drunk angry men losing money which makes for a bad cocktail. The dealer will need to remain calm and be able to handle the player with a smile on his face because the casino will want that customer to come back and lose more money. That is why a good personality and how the dealer interacts with the player is just as important as efficiency. *Sorry, I had to break it up like this because of the stupid 500 character limit.

5:19 "according to people who have been in the industry for a long time, the quieter you handle cheques, the better of a dealer you are." I'm just wondering because I'm looking for work as a dealer until I finish school. Is there anything besides efficiency that I need to focus on in order to excel?

Yes, drunk angry men are frequently players. In the 5 years I worked as a dealer I've had many men throw cards at me, call me every name you can think of, spit on me, threaten me, stalk me, and other forms of verbal abuse.

I am a new BJ dealer, I just passed my probation. I had a very bad experience with a bad customer. She called me fucker, so suck, go away, point her finger to me in every time she loosed, and all the guys around the table keep laughing, that make her keep continue her inpropriate behavior. I finished my 3rd shoose. She still keep act the same. I am new, nervere and my eng is not fluence. I just keep smiled and dealed. All the time the floor lady stood behide me, she heard everything but she said nothing, that make me thought this was regular happened to dealer, Isn't it? In this situation, Do I need to deserve that kind of customer? What I suppose to handle?

You didn't miss it. I didn't go into what to do if you're left-handed. ^_^ Sorry. A left-handed person will use the same hands to deal as a right-handed person does. So when you scoop up the cards you'll have to do it with your right hand. The only thing a left-handed dealer might do differently is pitch the cards left handed.
