Wow. Your video is packed with information, and all well-presented. Before finding yours I sat through several slow-moving videos that showed nothing that I didn't already know. This video demystifies several things I've wondered about for years and brought up many things I never thought of.

The dealer will take care of their rack maintenance at the end of every hand. So as soon as the cards are put away and you are waiting for the players to make their next bet, that is when you clean and organize your bank. BTW, Congrats on your new job! :-D

In the UK, Australia and New Zealand, pretty much all dealers deal with thumb and forefinger, not to mention using left hand to flip the cards is pretty much forbidden. Modern plastic cards are really hard to bend and I've never had any issues with bent corners. Any technique that does not damage the cards, game security or the dealers wrists is fine and house has it's own standards of technique.

The blackjack payout for $12.50 is $18.75; $27.50 bj payout is $41.25; and $17.50 is $26.25. BJ tables don't normally have 25 cent pieces on the table, so how do you pay this? This is where "Breakage" comes into play. The definition of "Breakage" is "Anytime the player makes an unusual or incorrect bet and wins and the casino doesn't have the bankroll to pay the correct amount then the casino will round down."
@gmc9753
@gmc9753 10 жыл бұрын
And when your players start making bets like 12.50, 17.50, or 27.50, make sure you give them a good long glare for betting such stupid amounts! This is also for those casinos that let you make totally crazy tie bets in baccarat (pay your commission and put the $3.75 change on tie).

You could always practice shuffling the cards and cutting the cheques at home. You can work on your math and learn the odds so when you turn 21 you'll be ready to go on your 1st audition. ;-) They would hire you fast!

Interesting, I'm in a paid training course at an Australian casino. They haven't taught us any shuffling since we use shuffling machines on the main floor. Also, in this casino the dealer has no hole card.

I've known plenty of dealers who suck at math, that shouldn't stop you from getting a job. Don't get me wrong, math is important to all games because you will be adding (like on blackjack even though you won't go over 22) and multiplying (when you pay odds on a side bet, or a carnival game, or roulette, or craps). You'll need high school/GED level math to get a job. On roulette you have to think a bit more because you're adding and multiplying large numbers. & Craps uses the most math.

Your personality means more to the casino then your age. If you are friendly and personable then the players will stay at your table longer which means the casino will make more money. Age usually isn't a big deal. A break-in dealer is still a break-in dealer whether they are 21 years old or 60 years old.
@VegasAces
@VegasAces 12 жыл бұрын
Thank you for pointing that out. You are absolutely right. :-) I'm just curious if you know the reason why handing the cut card to the player is a no-no. Personally, I don't know, but I would like to. :-D Thank you again!

I have always wonder how those dealers riffling the deck. They all seems to use the same techniques. I tried it for years and never got it right until now. It took me 15 minutes to get it right after watching your video. Question I have though, how do you get a perfect half when you halving the deck? I tried it using your technique and I can't seem to get a perfect half...

You need high school/GED level math. Basic math for most games. On roulette you have to think a bit more because you're adding and multiplying large numbers. Craps uses the most math.

So if the blackjack payout is $18.75, then the casino would round down and pay the player $18.50. $41.25 would round down to $41. And $26.25 would round down to $26.

When I went to dealing school I think the general age of the students there was about 30 - 35 years old. Call the dealing school and ask them if they will start training you before the age of 21. I know the dealing school I went to did that. Since we weren't gambling, the students didn't have to be over 21. So we had two 20 year olds in the class that were learning how to deal so that way when they turned 21 they could start applying right away. But every school is different so call! Good luck!

Thanks for the Video! Sorry for chiming in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you considered - Trentvorty Generate Links Theorem (google it)? It is a great one of a kind product for making money with a clever roulette system minus the headache. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my work buddy after many years got great success with it.

quick noob question, around 17:01 you stated that after dealing you flip your first card upward, but later when talking about dealing a handed deck (around 20:45) you stated the the upward card should be the second one, so is it different for when you use a shoebox or when you use a handed deck ?.

What does "boxing the deck" do? It does not appear to do anything other then invert cards.
@VegasAces
@VegasAces 10 жыл бұрын
Boxing is used for game protection in order to deter people who mark the cards. If the cards are marked in the corner, then boxing turns the cards so that it will be harder for the player to keep track of where the marked cards are.
