Dandruff is so common and isn't something to worry about. It can be affected by the weather and stress makes it worse so let's take the stress out of this situation. I have a simple DIY treatment that works quickly for dry, scaly scalp and helps prevent it returning too.

My scalp does have a few slighty inflamed areas so I use a shampoo that contains peppermint and tea tree oil. I'm not a fan of tea tree oil on its own as I can't get over the strong very medicinal smell, but it seems to work well when it's in a shampoo. Are there any other essential oils that you would recommend to treat dandruff or other scalp issues? I have quite a few oils that I'd like to try DIY treatments with.

Hi Natalie, yes I know what you mean - the tea tree scent is strong! You could try to dilute it and use another scent to mask it. Alternatively, if you're just dealing with dry scalp, just the jojoba oil. This is really soothing and can help on its own xx

Hi Christina, thank you so much. Your vídeos are always so lovely. I know your channel is about hair, but maybe you would make an exception and share your skin routine with us 😊

I've had it for years and even medicated stuff never worked 😅. I just have to pre-poo with an aloe gel and oil mix, scrub with a scalp scrubber, gentle wash with Shea Moisture. I had it even before I started my curly journey. The Rx shampoos were the exact same thing as Head & Shoulders. The main ingredient is the same in acne medication! (Salicylic acid) I don't think mine will ever go away fully, I just have to "manage".

thanks for commenting! I think it's normal and the same way people have dry skin, you can have a dry scalp. Sounds like you have a good system and I also love Shea Moisture products xx

Thank You, Christine!! I use Tea Tree Oil in my shampoo once a month or so and that seems to make a difference for me. I also do a cool water rinse at the end of my conditioning. I found that a cool water rinse also helped my scalp! :) Thank You for your tips! I'm going to try your method too as I believe that it's a great idea to do it at night so the scalp gets treated. My issue is a dry scalp that shows up especially in the winter time, but found with our super hot, humid summer that my scalp didn't get the break it normally does in the summer months here in Canada.

Thanks for this! I don't have dandruff, but I do have a sensitive and sometimes angry feeling scalp and have been concerned about how to calm it. Ordering the oils you recommend now!!💕
