Why is it hard for some to understand why we love being a feminine housewife? What is wrong with it? If it isn't your style, no big deal. But, tons of us enjoy being home taking care of our spouses and children. Or the spouse alone.

The rise of toxic feminism, woke culture and modern cinema, trying to tear down the core fabric of society. Because this is where housewives sit: At the core of our society. People are lost, brainwashed by mainstream media spending all they have in normalizing the odd, and oddifying normal, natural things. Nothing is wrong with it, people are just mislead. Lead astray by liberal media. And I’ve been before.

I think the best way to go about this is knowing who we are in Christ, we need to stop apologizing for being traditional. If someone wants to criticize we can just say why we like what we do and move on. I think we get so insecure about the outside world but when you’re at home doing what you love in the presence of the Lord and your family who loves you what does it matter right? We should continue to focus on more and more joy and it will look attractive to the outsiders 😉. We don’t owe anyone an explanation over the calling God has on our lives.

I must have a great circle, because I do not experience negativity on my feminine homemaker, homeschooling mom lifestyle. Most people like the way I dress and call it romantic. I was once "liberal + progressive" but over the last 10 years transformed into a more traditional housewife. When coworkers ask my husband what his wife does, he proudly says, "shes a homemaker" and most people smile, and comment that's nice to hear. But i know social media is a different story. Lots of hateful behavior on there. I think a lot of it is who we surround ourselves with.

Do you think a liberal progressive can be a feminine homemaker? To me they are not mutually exclusive. :) I agree with you it depends a lot on your circle. I do my best to surround myself with kind, nonjudgmental people. I'd rather have a smaller circle of folks who genuinely love me and want me to be happy, than people I feel like I have to impress or be exactly like.

The biggest thing im afraid of is judgement from my family for wanting to get married young. My family thinks 23 is too young.

I got married at 22 and dealt with the same thing. The thing that matter is that you get married for the right reasons and you make a smart decision, as much as a heart decision. Wow this video is so timely for me!!❤ Getting married in a month and instead of congratulating us my future FIL called us a week later hysterical that we were throwing our lives away and that me taking a gap semester (still taking classes) to spend with my husband ( My state is still locked down, living alone is super depressing, and the overwhelm from school is destroying my health again) is us throwing our lives away. Going to try to get my fiance to set better boundaries but I'm working internally so I don't let their shaming become my own negative self talk. It's going to be a bigger battle once I "waste" my fancy tech degree when I have kids down the line to do what actually makes me happy 🙊 but oh well haha 😊 Definitely need to navigate the balance between giving Grace and standing up for myself, and protecting my own peace.

Femininity is so interesting. I love being a woman, despite the lack of privalege that our gender/sex has over the other. As a feminist I think that we as (at least a Western society) have drifted from feminity as a necessity in the revolution against oppression, lack of voting rights, working rights, reproductive rights, sexual rights, sexual assault rights, marriage and motherhood rights, etc etc. I feel like we needed to (and still need to) demonstrate our abilities in order to "earn" (while men are given) rights that should just be inalienable. Having said that, I almost feel like because we needed to prove ourselves, "femininity" is looked as weakness. I think I'm realizing that there's actually a lot of strength in being gentle in an increasingly harsh world. To be nurturing to all (to men, to women, to children, to yourself), in a world that is not nurturing. I disagree with some of Cynthia's fundamental values but I think she has so much to offer in the world of feminity, elegance, and manners. And rarely have I felt unwelcome on her channel as someone who might not fit in her normal audience. I wish that it wasn't so unusual to be a feminist as a feminine woman. And visa versa. And I feel that so much about femininity can be applied and expected of men as well...manners, kindness, nurturing, love, posture, mannerisms, charisma, warmth, smiling, etc. I think that warmth and love and withholding of judgement just needs to be proactively given to all groups of people. Including non-feminine, nonbinary, gay, etc, love everyone. According to God, we as humans are not meant to judge or condemn. There is no "right" way to live life as a woman. Cynthia is clearly happy and thriving as a homemaker and I couldn't be happier for her as a fellow woman.

Jess, this is one of the most interesting topic! For years I've lived agreeing with both schools of thought. I am a feminist and I'm traditional. I am very feminine, I have a career and I don't understand the polarization between the two. I went to college and earned a degree because I wanted to be able to support myself and always be an equal partner in my relationship. I think women who live super traditional have the right to do that and the great thing is that most women actually get to decide what they will do.

I love your post! You particularly hit the nail on the head about how much strength it takes to be gentle in an increasingly harsh world and that elegance, manners and kindness, etc are also very valuable in men. I also feel welcome here despite being quite different from Cynthia in many regards. I wish more people would be aware of feminists like us who value femininity and totally support SAHM's and housewives. We're out there. We're just not as in your face. lol

@@reginasemenenko148 Yay, it makes me so happy to see all the women who identify as both feminine and feminist. I didn't think there'd be so many women like me here. I also have a degree, a job, and plan on trying to always have at least a part-time job. But I can still say I love my dresses, the color pink, value manners, would rather spend time with my family than juggling a demanding career. I see nothing wrong with being a full-time housewife or being a CEO. Different strokes for different folks. :)

I get a lot of judgment from both women and men for being abstinent/chaste and a lot of those that I know through open mic nights don't understand that I don't like to drink, don't smoke and practice abstinence. I have struggled to meet a masculine man in my life and a lot of men in my age range don't tend to like women who are feminine, they tend to want career women and as a woman who has chosen a path in life focused more on performance art rather than a tech or medical field, it is difficult to meet someone I'm compatible with.

Awh don’t get discouraged! I got a lot of criticism when I was in university for not partying and keeping my virginity (people even thought I was joking and puts “bets” on me lying). This is bullying what they do, even thought they don’t realize it. As for dating, have you tried maybe considering dating men who are older? I have a few friends who went that path and it worked out for them; they were able to find men with family values. The only reason I considered marrying my husband who I met in college is because he was much more mature since he was in the military for a few years before school. A lot of men in college have not experienced life enough to understand femininity and traditional values. ☺️✨

@@CynthiaL That always has been something I've considered because I often don't feel like I connect with guys my own age. A lot are either immature or don't have the same values or both. I guess I just have to be patient and wait to meet a guy who is more mature. Being bullied for my abstinence values has sometimes made me feel insecure, but it makes me feel less alone knowing that I'm not the only woman who has dealt with that kind of bullying.

Aw a lot of us change throughout the years. My suggestion is to slowly ease your way into becoming more feminine if you're that scared of judgment. I remember wearing a dress once a month, then every few weeks, every couple weeks, once a week, then most of the time, when it's warm anyway. lol After awhile, family and friends got used to it. :)
@gaby5546
@gaby5546 3 жыл бұрын
@@rachelsmith5643 So true about changing and growing over time! I've actually kind of been doing what you suggested- gradually showing more of my femininity, though it's mostly external things. I'm far more uncomfortable revealing my emotional/internal femininity cuz this feels much higher risk. Like I'm used to speaking a bit roughly around my family, and those I'm familiar with, so if I start talking more softly and sweetly I'll feel extremely judged. A lot of the reason is due to me shaming myself for being feminine cuz I used to look at it as weakness. Being a tomboy/masculine was my defense mechanism during a very painful time in my late childhood, so exposing myself to the same people who hurt me the most is terrifying. Also my mother will probably want to know where this change is coming from and try to caution me on being perceived as flirty and how that could get me in trouble or taken advantage of. I mean I understand seeing such a drastic change in me will be surprising for them, but I don't feel like they're encouraging the change for me. I'm usually so scared to express myself authentically in front my mother because I get a very subtle disapproving vibe from her. I can't handle that. She'd never intentionally hurt my feelings, and in many ways she's a good mother, but because she's not that internally feminine, I feel awkward, uncomfortable and ashamed to show my vulnerability, to be honest about my fears and desires with things like marriage because again- she'll have something to say about it that's gonna make me feel bad and walk away from that conversation wanting to cry. I think it's just gonna take a loooot of time to get them used to the outward changes, and then slowly, very slowly, I'll have to ease them into my rediscovered feminine soul lol. One of the things I'm starting to accept too is that we're just very different people, on very different paths, and we can still have a relationship, but it may just never be what I wish it was, and had been all along. We can be very different, but still both be good people. And I don't have to show them my full self either, I can set boundaries where I'm comfortable. I hope sharing my experiences will help and comfort anyone reading this who feels similarly. :)

Yep I get this. I wouldn’t even put on a dress up until a few years ago. I’d just wear anything that fit as long as it wasn’t too “girly”. For me it was just speaking openly about what I was doing and how I felt about things that made the transition normal to them, because they got to hear how my perspective was changing. Started with things like “My closet is going to become a home to some nicer clothes, because I’m learning that what I wear affects the way I feel” Or simply “I’ve been opening my mind to different perspectives lately” Or to just incorporating words like “ladylike” and “classy” to your speech, so they will kind of see that you’re starting to care about things that you didn’t care about before. I think speaking openly about these things really helps just kind of rip off the bandage.

I am glad there is a beautiful and gracious woman who embraces femininity. It reminds me of when I posted The Classy Woman’’s (one of my other favorite bloggers) video on how to stay feminine and classy during quarantine on The Stripe FB group. What an excellent video. Karla even gave me a shoutout after I wrote kind comments about her video. I thought many women in The Stripe group would appreciate the video. Instead, there were rude and hateful comments. I didn’t reply to the comments - I just hid them. I had no idea The Stripe FB group would have that many catty members. I even contacted the administrator about the unpleasant comments, and she didn’t reply or do anything. I left the group and unfollowed The Stripe. I choose to be feminine because it has been part of my personality since birth, but I respect the choices the women have even though we still have a long way to go. Women can still be both successful in their career and in motherhood; the key is balance. Having both just wasn’t for me despite graduating from a Seven Sisters college. I appreciate my college degree as well as my Master’s in Library Science because education expands (I am still learning.) my horizons. Now that my only child is in college, I have transitioned to a WAH career so that I can maintain my homemaking skills. I agree that jealousy triggers these judgments. Yes, I am a fan of The Classy Woman (and your fan, too) for life because she acknowledges me and is classy in every way.

I believe we should have education that allows us to support ourselves when it's needed. And that even if the income isn't needed there's nothing wrong with using our skills and intellect in a job.

Hi Cynthia: I have a lot of your videos to catch up on since I took a long break from watching KZbin. This is only my second comment but to briefly reintroduce myself, I'm a woman living in the midwest of the States and I'm working on one day embracing a more traditional lifestyle. My dream has always been to be a housewife, though motherhood has never called to me. But it wasn't until recently that I've finally opened up about this dream. I loved this video for so many reasons, more than I could really go into here without writing a novel. As a teenager, I too was very competitive and jealous but my reasons differed in that I'm blind. Growing up, I was constantly told what I could and couldn't do; in school, no matter how well I did, I was often singled out or not chosen simply because my orbs don't work; it didn't matter that I was as competent and talented as my fellow peers, or that I was better in some areas. I did achieve a lot and win things, but I felt I needed to work extra hard to prove to myself but also to get ahead. And when I didn't win or missed out, boy were there jealousy issues. ... Asking questions when dealing with judgment and criticism is something I've learned to do, too. I feel it invites the other to share their feelings, question their own thoughts, and allows me to look outside of myself and learn. As a teacher, I use socratic questioning, so I've learned to do that in other situations. I think one of the reasons I was too afraid to explore the possibility of a more traditional and softer lifestyle until now is I hadn't built enough solidity and confidence in myself to withstand the judgment and assumptions that would come my way, the biggest one from family being: Oh you're blind and you want to stay home? Good, let your husband take care of you. Just like in any other lifestyles, there are blind homemakers, and I'm learning to embrace and make my dream happen. Thank you for doing what you do and building a community for women such as myself who embrace femininity and want a more traditional lifestyle.

The thing is, it's prudent to have a marketable skill just in case your plan doesn't work out or in case you have to get a job temporarily before you can do what you really want to do. There's no guarantee so a backup plan is always wise. That's my two cents :)

I'm from conservative country and hearing that someone gets judged by being feminine is very unusual for me. I had a short hair at school and always wore a baggy T-shirt/hoodie, I was acting quite "boyish" and had a tomboy friend, it affected my personality as well, I never acted like soft baby girl or shared a dream of becoming bride, having kids and etc. I wasn't treated well, in the beginning I couldn't understand why, I wasn't rude towards my classmates, why were they so cold towards me? But after some time, I decided to wear skirt and dressed more feminine (just for fun, I wanted to try something new), all the sudden, 80% of them started treating me better, I thought that maybe there is another reason, but no. I don't think that's the case in America or other well developed countries, but in my country family pushes women to get married really early, if you don't act like a gentle butterfly, don't have a long hair (but if you have a short hair and wear makeup and dresses, that's fine), don't want husband and kids, you are freak, you aren't normal, there is something wrong with you, it's extremely hard to find a community who will accept you this way, mostly people will push you away.

It is the opposite in North America, if you aren’t a woman who wants a career we often get labelled as lazy or leaches. I’m sorry that happened to you! Both forms of judgment are wrong. Women should be able to choose their path 💛💛💛

Hi Cynthia. I really love your videos but I think that sometimes traditional women are the ones who tend to be quite judgmental. A lot of traditional women tend to think they’re better than other women that have chosen a different and less traditional path. I think both sides need to acknowledge that no matter what our life choices are we need to be respected the same way. In fact there’s feminism in every choice a woman makes because feminism is after all being Pro choice. Believing that women are as conscious and capable as men to make their own life decisions. Believing that the fact that another woman has different principles and ideals does not make her less worthy. Sending you a hug 💕

i honestly think the elephant in the room is people are not judging traditional living or being feminine, they judge because the idea of female nature come directly from Nazi's it's pretty much a made up concept to brain wash women into having a lot of "white Babies" (I'm not accusing you of this) but many trad wives or traditional women have ties to alt right groups and they promote very racist people. Also women who work get accused of being masculine because they choose to have a job instead of babies....all the feminine and etiquette stuff is fun. but i getting super annoyed when people assume they get hate because....."I'm so pretty"...when thats not the case at all...a lot of red pill women promote this, such as blond in the belly of the beast, brave new world, brittney pettebone, red ice, mrs midwest, critical condition, and many many more. Traditional home maker turns into a cover for tradwife/ red pill

@@CynthiaL : ) i don't get that vibe from this channel, but I was just letting you know thats where a large portion of that judgement is coming from, that seems to be a huge blind spot for a lot of people. red ice a yogi I'm pretty sure reclaim the phrase "female nature"
@hollie3897
@hollie3897 3 жыл бұрын
Okay I get your point, there are definitely white supremacists in the trad community; Critical Condition and Red Ice are definitely two. Really nasty people. But no, the idea of femininity and differences of disposition between the sexes existed LONG before the Nazis. Why else would Mary Wollstonecraft have written what she did in the late 18th century? Defined gender roles have been around for a very long time, Nazi Germany simply appealed to these pre-existing ideas to brainwash German citizens to partake in what they thought would be a utopic ideal. Bearing in mind that this was roughly the time more women started going to university and voting, they wanted a “return” to before - hence such a feminine ideal must have already existed. Also, I might add that Robyn (Critical Condition) once said she doesn’t want to associate with Mrs Midwest because she “supports diversity too much” (I.e. uses pictures of women of colour in her fashion videos). So, the white nationalists actually rejected MM. She’s not a part of them. I still think these types of people are the extreme minority in the feminine community - and even then, they tend to stay in their alt-right corner of the internet. If you’re not looking there, it’s highly unlikely you’ll find any simply among the etiquette and femininity community.

I'm not sure if you could provide insight to this, but how do you deal with friends who tell you to leave someone you're dating when all you want to do is work it out? I know working it out is more traditional and just up and leaving is more modern 🙄 so I figured I'd ask you.
