Hi Laura, if there's one thing I've learnt while researching all plants including, cactus and succulents is, every time you move from one plant to another is, ALWAYS rinse your pruners/scissors in hot water, in order to completely alleviate the passing on of pests! But you never do that? I'm wondering why? In saying that, I love to see your passion come through in the way you plant these beautiful specimens with a constantly sincere smile that, also makes your eyes smile! I thank you for your authenticity and no frills attitude and the silly fun you guys have when designing or returning to clean up. You and your team are just so super down to earth and no fancy frills or make up for the cameras, it's a pleasant change, which I thank you for. Happy cactusing Laura.

Personally I like seeing the trunk on some of those succulents especially the jade plants. So jealous you can grow jade like that in a year. It takes a whole year for a cutting to grow a couple inches for me.

I wasn't actually pointing out *Laura's* brutality...I was excited to know that succs weren't delicate little flowers. That you could manhandle them and they wouldn't wither. They often have the appearance of being fragile and delicate, but then can survive in harsh conditions. Somewhat contradictory LOL! No, Laura knows EXACTLY what she can do with them and I was thrilled to see I didn't have to be scared to handle them. Sorry if my comment caused confusion as it seems to. Twas not a slight on Laura by any stretch of the word.
@elstankydank38153 жыл бұрын
@@Beansie I knew what you meant :) succulents are very hardy and can recover brutality as long as you aren't in an area that has heaps of rain - very hardy however rot prone!

She has long gutter boxes where she saves anything valuable. Succulents and cacti are not like a lot of plants. A lot of them die after they flower. She knows more than you do and she does have an adoption program.

I absolutely love your work! So creative and eye appealing! I do have a question , , , I've watched you cut off cuttings and plant them in the ground without rooting. I've done that . . . waiting several days before watering . .. and the leaves turn black like they are burnt. Why?Appreciate any response you can give.Thank you Laura for your beautiful work and inspiration!
@LauraEubanks7 жыл бұрын
Shirley Graham hi! Hmmm... black leaves can be an indication of rot. If the leaves fall of at the gentlest touch or if there is black in the center(crown) of the plant, then I suspect rot and your succulents need a drier location. If the plant is otherwise intact, and the leaves are just dIscolored, sunburn may indeed be the cause. A location in the garden that offers some protection from the sun in the hotter hours of the day is advised. Best of luck and thanks for following!

Hi Laura! I live in Florida and I have been growing a succulent garden for about a year now. I recently discovered your channel and have binge watched for the last 2 weeks. I am star stuck. I have a question about if you think it would help my succulents grow faster and healthier if instead of cacti soil, if I used small pebble? With the frequent rain here it seems that the soil stays moist. Nothing is dying, I just want to make sure they don't start to! Lol
