I used to get extremely overwhelmed but now that I work from home, it's so much better. I'm like eh I don't have energy to clean out my closet right now but I bet I could do the dishes, water the flowers and throw in a load of laundry in 5 to 10 minutes . Thus thinking has helped me so much, instead of worrying what I can't do I think okay but what can I do, I can clean the shower while I'm taking a shower and sitting in my shower chair

I have started to think like that as well and it has helped me a lot!

Thank you, I really needed this today! ❤ I think a lot of my overwhelm comes from being shamed as a child, having an overbearing mother and then relationships with narcissists reinforcing those feelings. It is really amazing how the brain works.

I’ve had Fibromyalgia and possibly other things with symptoms from childhood, and a mom who has as well. Recently, since Covid, I’ve had one health flare after another. Recently feeling overwhelmed by meds four times a day, and hubby has gotten overwhelmed as well. Thanks for the video. When I had young kids, I realized early in our homeschooling journey, that if my silverware draw was neat and organized all was right in the world. Realized this when I taught my 3 yo son his chore of unloading the silverware from the dishwasher. I told him to be very careful with how you do it cause “if the silverware drawer is not neat…” and my daughter finished “mom’s not happy and then nobody’s happy.” She joked about it cause she had heard “if moms not happy…” statements, but I realized just how much happier I was when he stated staying on top of and keeping that drawer neat. We were just days into a move, boxes all around, started homeschooling our daughter 1 st grade and our 3 yo wanted to “do school too”. Plus I had 2 grandparents others in the house, and within a short time added another 2 grandparents on the other side. I’ve counseled newlyweds to figure out what their one silverware drawer is and share that with their spouse so they can both realize and guard that item for each other.

I always tell myself, "Just do one thing." I find that I get a lot more done by doing "just one thing" even if that one thing is lying down to rest for 20 minutes.
