I'm a chef and very familiar with butchery and rabbits. Id recommend you look up a video of Jaques Pepin showing how to debone a chicken carcass, or the Ballotine recipe where he shows the same with a different method. The Maryland/thigh of a chicken is very similar to a rabbits hindquarter, the technique for a clean deboned hindquarter is exactly the same as I use for a chicken and presentation is immaculate with very little waste stuck to the bone. Good video, glad more people are getting into rabbit as a source of protien

Hey Bobby- I enjoyed watching this video. I have a question. Here in Maine in the winter we put straw in our hide boxes. The rabbits just seem to eat it more than use it to stay warm. Do you use straw in your rabbitry? If so how do you keep them from just eating it? Thanks in advance.Sincerely, Raye
@TheRabbitryCenter11 күн бұрын
We use straw for bedding and we use Hay for Feed. You can expect them to chew a little straw, but when providing Hay, they will choose that instead. Throw a handful in to get them to stop chewing the straw.

@ I do throw hay in when I put the straw in their hide boxes but somehow they end up eating both. Actually some of the rabbits do favor hay over straw so I am not sure why.

@ You can expect Rabbits to chew a little straw, but eating a lot of it makes me think that straw must be some real tasty stuff

Bobby, have you got any advice on what to do for a rabbit that is chewing through the hardware cloth? My husband discovered one of our breeders, doing this today. We don't know how to stop/protect her from this behavior.
@TheRabbitryCenter12 күн бұрын
Replace it with a heavier gauge wire, provide the Rabbit with something else that you want like Hay or branches, or even untreated pieces of wood. Thanks for asking. Best of luck.

@TheRabbitryCenter thank you! All of our breeders are provided with wooden chewing blocks. We're using 1/2" hardware cloth on the hutches. I'll pass your information on to my husband.

How much should be the price of 3.5 kg each New Zealand white rabbit pair? Should i buy at 500 USD?
@TheRabbitryCenter2 күн бұрын
I’d search your area for folks selling that breed of rabbit and compare prices and only after researching choose a realistic price.
@yasirkhankhan49612 күн бұрын
@@TheRabbitryCenter what is the price over there? I am sure that this guy is scamming people here at 500 USD by promising to buy back at 45 USD per 3.5kg rabbit upto 50 years which is luring people

@@yasirkhankhan4961 I can't recall, but at the end of the video, I share what I spent on the garage.
