What neighborhoods are you considering moving to? or do you have a favorite neighborhood?
@DanteeArias14 жыл бұрын
I use to live in West Town - that might be my favorite neighborhood since it's really quiet and close to the West Loop without the West Loop prices.
@LivingInChicago4 жыл бұрын
@@DanteeArias1 West Town is a bargain compared to the west loop. Its a great area.

Hey . Do you know much about North center

Brother man, what do you think of the Flats Apartments, specifically the Draper?
@Mentallect4 жыл бұрын
I think Humbolt Park is a hidden jewel, up and coming, slowly gentrifying. Too bad there is no El station very close by making commute to the Loop more convenient for work. People hate on the west side, but I think living east of Western Avenue provides the best of all worlds: Safety, amenities, easy commute to downtown. Homes can also be found under $500K something impossible in Lincoln Park, my favorite neighborhood and Wicker Park, my second favorite Chicago venue.

I always appreciate your comments. great insight. I agree with all of your points. I think a lack of understanding of the city keeps people from considering outside of those centrally located neighborhoods. The el station is a significant hurdle for the area. There are so many options in Chicago. It all depends on how much people want to learn about them. I look forward to your insights going forward.

How do you stay safe in Chicago with all the gang violence? I like Chicago and want to move there but as a black man I'm worried gangs might attack me
@Mentallect4 ай бұрын
@@andrewusa14 You obviously have never been to Chicago which is ranked one of the safest cities in the world, yes, the world, not just the USA despite the rightwing propaganda. Stats do not lie, the media does.

I'm glad u said people that don't own a car. I definitely need to learn the L Train and bus system.

I visited Chicago in 2019, stayed in wicker park. Easy access to the L, nice bars, restaurants, shops. Lively area. I’d happily live in wicker park

Advice please. I'm going to be retiring somewhere is Chicagoland in a couple of years. I've been in the San Francisco area for a very long time. I prefer a diverse neighborhood, walkability, and proximity to an El station. I want a 1/1 condo in a classy old building, near a good library and a nice restaurant with a good bourbon list. While I don't need a good school system, I prefer to live where people care about education.

Thanks for the great video and Chicago content! My husband & I are planning to make the move to Chicago in the next few months. I've heard lots of things about how "segregated" Chicago is and the neighborhoods. As an interracial couple where are some places that both my husband and I would feel comfortable living? Do you as a black man ever feel unsafe or uncomfortable in certain areas ? This is something we are hyper aware of right now . thanks so much for your content!

I understand that concern. Send me an email. joe@chicagohomeinfo.com

For interracial couples if you're young and no kids, Rogers Park is the neighborhood for you. If you have a family and looking for diversity look in the Morgan park/Beverly area.

I’m looking to go to college up north, I like the city life I visit Chicago a lot! I love the winter and summer there!! I have 2 years left of high school and my price range isn’t the highest I would like either a 1 bed 1 bath or a studio with a bath. I like near Wrigley field but it is very pricey! I also like near lake shore driver kinda outside the city! I would like you help just go get looking to see what I need to save!

Damon thanks for watching the video. Chicago will have a lot of options. In about a year when you start applying let me know. I will give you and your parents all of the possible options. I went to UIC. Great University to consider.

I was told Woodlawn, Englewood, West Pullman, North Lawndale, and Roseland were the best neighborhoods in the city. But every time I Google these communities, there is horrible stories. Please advise.

I plan on moving to Chicago from Milwaukee in a couple months. My budget for rent is under $900 and I have been finding some reasonable studios and 1beds within the price range. Are Chatham and Gresham both mild in crime or should I avoid those areas?
