Would love to see a video on decorating a smaller home (2 bed 2 bath) or smaller. How to give them the French Country feel, Italian/Tuscan feel etc. Some potential ideas for changes to the home to help bring it together, adding faux beams, inside or outside for example, adding pillars inside or outside. Start at at lower end budget and work up to a more modest but not extreme budget.

You do an exceptional job of actually EXPLAINING the style. I love that you point out the details that make a room Italian. You take the time to carefully point out differences in regions. I now understand the pictures because you articulate the elements that make the room Italian. Grazie

I absolutely love this video. I grew up in a semi rural part of Australia. The valley I lived in was full of Italian tomato and carnation growers. That entire valley is gone now to ugly modern overpopulated cramped housing. I love the traditional Italian terracotta tiles. You just can't beat the quality. The warmth of Italian decor and the Italian people is beautiful. I love the rustic style. The traditional stone and wrought-iron. And especially the Italian pencil pines. I'd love to visit Italy some day. I learnt something new today. Fleur-de-lis is Italian! I always thought it was french! Thankyou for another inspiring video 💐🌻🐓

With the maple leafs and other fall plants turning colours similar to the Tuscan colours in Canada, I feel it's a popular colour scheme here. Including mine. It's my favourite. It would be so nice to have enough Euro to redo a Tuscan home! Also, it's so cold in Canada I like a warm interior in winter...

Jacqueline, Thanks for this Tuscana countryside-Provincial design style video. It's exactly... perfect. I just sat down to Angel Hair Pasta with sundried tomatoes, herbs & garlic...when I opened up YT to cruise around. (No kidding.) An excellent and informative video! As always. I also enjoyed your music selection...particularly the Gypsy Jazz Guitar portion. Was that Joscho Stephan (background "trio")??? He is an extraordinary genius. An A plus, level gypsy jazz guitarist for sure. For vintage classical... I'm still partial to the late, (phenomenal), great Andrés Segovia. Gypsy Jazz was a very unexpected 😃choice for Italian decor...but an EXCELLENT paring with your video.👍 You never disappoint. Now if only...there was a fine Brunello di Montalcino to complement my meal - with this video. (Any one of the Killer B's would do quite nicely...if I could afford it!) I'm having well water...followed by a "cuppa" Tea. Buona notte, Darla (not even a wee bit Italian).

I remember Tuscan used to be a fad in Arizona about 20 years ago (and not just limited to Italian Americans), but people got sick of it eventually.

Not just in AZ, either. Didn't matter what part of the country you were in or what their heritage was, you knew at least a couple people who jumped on the Tuscan bandwagon. You couldn't get away from it LOL

What fun! As an Italian-American I'd like to respond to your question as to whether we imitate this style in our homes. Answer: yes and no. Without the authentic materials and artisanal skills that go into true Italian interiors, most American attempts to recreate this style look like cheap knock-offs. And these days vines, leaves and grapes are very off-trend. Instead, many of us try to recreate the spirit of Italian interior design by using home-grown authentic materials such as local timber, stone quarried nearby, tiles hand-fired by artisans we know, and artwork by starving artists who are friends.

Being italian and having lived 7 years in Tuscany ... I can make my point here. You portraied perfectly the style and collected all the main features, doing a remarkable job. Materials and colours have also a function according to climate and way of life, which may end up lost in fake buildings in Texas or Arizona, giving a sense of overcharging and consequent abandoning of the style. My compliments for a one more nice video , which I absorbed with dreamy eyes :-)

Beautiful photos! I love the Tuscan interiors. The colors of the homes have a unique look. The difference between Tuscany and my area (20minutes from Las Vegas) is astounding! Most every house here is beige then there is beige and of course beige!! Tuscany is so much better! I can guarantee they don’t have HOA’s 🤭 Wonderful blog I enjoyed it very much.

Another differance, our "stucco" is usually on the outsdie of the home, its lumpy bumpy scratchy and ugly as can be as far as I'm concerned. The stucco in Italy, looks like colored lime plaster, or smooth cement. What is it made out of? How would you get stucco like in Italy in or on a home in the US. Since the word "stucco" clearly seems like 2 totally different products. In some homes in the US, mostly out west that I am aware of, the walls inside a home are not smooth either. They put a type of plaster I guess through a machine that is connected to an air line and it spits (litterally) it out on the dry wall aka plaster board. Then it is lightly smoothed over, so our walls are textured. The italian home walls look smooth and beautiful. Imagine living in a dusty place and every wall in your home is a miniscule shelf for the dust to park itself on. What were they thinking? 😄 We are starting remodeling this winter and I hate our "south western" home. So I am trying to find ways to make it more beautiful by more than some paint, tile and carpet. Love your videos!

I really really enjoy your decor videos 😍 Thank you for making them 🙏 Can't wait to see more. I pretty religiously watch every single one 😅 I love it that you are always so thorough 😊 You have become one of my best teachers, since I am aspiring to be an interior designer, so thank you for that too 💖🙏 Your videos make me inspired, even about styles that might not originally be my personal cup of tea. Would love to see you do a video about the interiors in Scotland at some point, if you have time. Maybe Scottish country, or Scottish Christmas 🤩

I notice in France as well as Italy, it looks like don't seal their terracotta tiles. Here in the US, our terracotta tiles come from Saltillo Mexico and called Saltillo Tiles. They have to come from there to have that name. But everyone here tells you to seal them, and that they have to be sealed yearly (more work to do, no one wants that). Would love to know if it is really neccessary.

Would love to hear your opinion as you do this for a living. Do you think if the outside of your home is one way (desert stucco for example), that the inside of your house can not be French Country, Victorian, or Cottage Core etc? Or a mix of the things you like?

I think it should be to your style preferences 💗 Although perhaps I wouldn't recommend Ski Chalet style & an Adobe home 🤣 I always think it doesn't matter if the outside doesn't match the interior, however to make sure theres synergy between each room, not different style in each room (if that makes sense). So sorry I've only seen your comment now Dee! 💗💗

Hi, I'm a 2nd year interior architecture student. Would you recommend a master's? I'm thinking Lincoln, but I'm not sure of the location or the master as a hole?
@dantierandbalogh
@dantierandbalogh 9 ай бұрын
Hi did you apply yet? Choose a good uni for masters (no Lincoln lol). No shade but I went there for an open day years ago. Personally I don't see the point in masters for interior architecture (unless you want to become a professor or teacher). Why the need to do a masters?
