....Thrift Store Decor....I'm 66 years young, it's been something I've been doing since my 20's....... you have to be aware, as you stated, with one's style and what you are looking at, to be discerning, and yet, be a bit open to repurposeing and the often " quirky " item that might work for ones home, idea, etc. One of a kind, as you stated. 🙂😊💛

Thanks for the tips. Your advice comes from many years of decorating with items thrifted from various locations. All good ideas, not surprising, because your home is full of a cozy, comfy, uncluttered vibe. Your personality shines through the surroundings, and it's nice to see each of your videos. I started this message just as a thank you for your advice, you are a gem!😊

Andrea, love your tips!! I haven’t purchased any decor lately... but when I do, I shop and decorate by your suggestions. I love mixing the old with the new. And sometimes I do have a touch of “grandma” lol!!! I have minimized my home over the last two years... but a specific touch , like my grandmothers China or other items of hers is how I bring in the old with any vintage finds I have . Less is more. Simplicity really makes a home feel calming. Your home is a true example of that. Thank you for your tips. Hope you are feeling well. Take care.

I’ve just found you! It’s Incredible wisdom and a beautifully edited episode. I’m a grandma in the Southwest. It seems the house architecture often dictates my home decor. This house is all about traditional rustic for me. Hand thrown pottery, books, and succulents are in most rooms. And for the first time in our marriage, my husband and I are styling it! I know, I know, it’s been very challenging. If a piece doesn’t have the WOW factor for BOTH of us, we keep looking. Most of our furniture and decor is second hand purchased online, in thrift stores, or antique malls. It’s just about being wise with our money so that we can share more of our resources with others! I’m looking forward to watching more of your channel.

My style has evolved with time, and I'm sure it will change again and again. When thrifting it does take discernment mixed with "I saw this across a crowded room and knew it would be perfect in my home." Andrea, once again you are spot on, and to narrow it down to a few essential tips makes it so much simpler. Thrifting should be fun, like a treasure hunt, remembering these are previously loved items someone decided to let go of and share with someone else. Thanks as always, Andrea, for your insight and tlps. Take care. ❤️⭐🌻

Several years ago I joined the farmhouse trend coming from primitive. I wanted a lighter, brighter look and this seemed the right way to go. Fast forward 4 yrs later I'm soooo over it. I love white furniture but the all white look was missing color. I'm struggling to find pictures like you have bc I'm way over the farmhouse signage. I still like a softer look to things like you do, but with a bit of French flair. I'm still mad about red LOL! So I'm stepping away from the all white or nothing look to a gentle but more color look. I started to add red but thinking I'll pull back and stay with grays, greens whites and blacks. We'll see. LOL! Love your ideas, they are refreshing and beautiful. God bless.

Thank you for sharing those tips. When you say it, it makes so much sense. I’ve been thrifting for years and have tried to do this, but I always get caught up in bring home too much and then it just looks like clutter. Lol. I need to focus on finding things more unique. And I need to learn how to make a beautiful Pinterest page like you have. Maybe there’s a class for doing that? Lol. I love looking at videos of your home. We have the same style but yours is so much more put together. 🤷♀️

1) Consider your style (make a Pinterest board of how you want your space to look/feel) 2) Look for unique, one-of-a-kind pieces 3) Look for larger, beautiful statement pieces rather than a bunch of little things to clutter the surfaces in your house 4) If you do purchase "littles" make sure they are cohesive to your style (i.e. colour, material) 5) Combine the old with the new to keep your home from feeling dated I would add, enjoy the thrill of the find and don't always go in expecting to bring something home!

I also LOVE the mirror behind you, and your coffee table, and side tables. How did you get the bleached wood look and whitewashed effect? I have a couple of tables that were dark wood, I chalk painted and made them chippy in white. Now I’m thinking I want to make them look like yours. Do you have a video on how you did that? Thanks so much in advance for your answer. Blessings! ❣️ 🤗

At 72, I'm still finding "my style". I just stripped my kitchen of everything and only want to put back what I love. I only have one item so far that I love (my 3 tiered wrought iron Longaberger basket holder that I've had for probably 25-30 years). Not sure what to do with the rest since I don't have a basement or much storage. Also, open concept home requires some cohesiveness, but my taste is all over the place in the other rooms (from traditional to Victorian, etc.) Hopefully I can figure it all out!
