Either works! The torn paper one I typically use as a whole page border (though I only do the jagged line down the sides of the page, and use a straight line on the top and bottom of the page) but these could be used as general page dividers too

Currently having this issue again. It's been a rough year and I've also attached the negative events to my notebooks. Ashamed to admit I've quite literally wasted at least 4+ notebooks this year, just ripping out the month (to archive) and binning the notebook (using the left over pages as scrap). By now I've got more notebooks (pages) by scrap than I've actually used this year. Currently having the same issue in my gorgeous Archer and Olive. We can't get them here anymore in the Netherlands without crazy shipping. So my options are stick it out (which sucks cause I'm not enjoying it), move into a b6 to include the last three months of the year and start fresh in an A5 again come January... Which means the current one is once again wasted, and also sucks. What a dilemma. Not sure what to do at all! Thanks for this video, the intro alone got me going "Sammeeeeeeeeeee" Argh.
