I’m new to both decoupage and your channel. Absolutely love the idea of using a poster instead you can have so much more fun! A great video! Thanks so much.

@@beckyallen4172 you are so welcome. I am working on a super crazy decoupage cabinet right now. It has a ton of door insets, etc. I am trying to get it finished and a video out within the next week. Thank you for tuning into my channel!

Has anyone tried coating it with epoxy resin for a more hard-wearing surface?

Was there a reason why you chose to add the water based clear coat over the lacquer, which offers good protection?
@davisroaddesigns7231 Жыл бұрын
Great question. I did spray the laquer first - I have found by putting a light coat of lacquer followed by the clear coat - it keeps my paper from puckering. Since it’s more of a poster type paper than decoupage paper, it takes a little extra to make sure it stays adhered to my piece. I feel the lacquer by itself does not offer enough protection and wanted something more durable.

Would it be ok to use iron if base project is a plastic chair instead of a table???
@davisroaddesigns7231 Жыл бұрын
I believe the iron on method would be too hot for the chair. Sorry for the delay - my notifications were not coming through.

Unfortunately my poster melted and it was ruined :( Is this common? It must have had a coating … which seems a common poster trait
@davisroaddesigns7231 Жыл бұрын
Hi Josephine - I have not had any posters melt. Did you put the parchment paper down first and make sure it was not wax paper?

@@davisroaddesigns7231 yes, used the right paper… maybe my iron was too hot ?
