Great video. Just a tip for anyone with a new V15, Gen5 or V12 where the cyclone gasket is protruding. Push the gasket into the housing of the cyclone to prevent issues with the seal ripping later on with use and then a new cyclone body being required because the seals are damaged and the cyclones are leaking dust and there is airflow entering the ripped gasket seal area. Dyson should ensure that these seals do not protrude during manufacture.

V15 te bulunan conta sorunu nedeniyle V11 tercih edeceğim.

I also noticed this problem with the gaskets, I do the same. Very good advice!

They could just make the gaskets completely enclosed and safe but they chose not to. Great vacuums but this little things make me hate them.

mine ripped and caused a vacuum leak. I put a bead of sikaflex over the top on the outside and let cure for 48 hours. Worked a treat. Also cheaper than buying a replacement gasket and spending a weekend fitting it lol.

Wow! You are a genius. My vac smells like a wet dog. The smell is coming from the metal screen on my Dyson 15. I’m quite shocked that all the dust gets so deep into the vacuum.

Today, i washed mine and drying now. I saw that a gasket around 7 pound. I hope you make a video about only changing gasket.

Thank you buddy, going to do this over coming weekend :-) heh removing connectors is part that scares me the most, will try big of oil as you suggested.fingers crossed 😅

@@techfixPOV Thank you sir, could I ask you how long it did take you Cca from start to finish apart from waiting for parts to dry? Just that I can x that by 3 at least as I am nowhere near you level 🫢

Okay overall I'm quite impressed with your persistence and also Dyson's engineering. You've thoroughly convinced me not to try this with mine... but now I'm wondering if there is an alternative method of deep cleaning. Do you think you could simultaneously blow air through the vacuum while lightly touching it with a vibrating finish sander? Maybe the high frequency vibration would shake off all that caked on dust? any other ideas on how to clean it?
@techfixPOV5 ай бұрын
Hello! Yes, your solution could work too. You won't clean absolutely everything, but it will help to remove a considerable amount of dust.

Thank you. Amazing video, great information. My brush are not rotating and I tested the connector and no voltage. I need to check the wiring, i hope its not the board.

Great video! I'm sure I can do this...if I can get that black connector out! I've watched you do it many times with full screen and slowed down...and I just can't figure out how you do it. I'm afraid I'm going to break something! If you were to imagine a tool that would release that connector...what would it look like?
@techfixPOV2 ай бұрын
Thank you! Are you referring to the connector on the front of the case? The one where the motorized brush connects?
@danmoehagen73762 ай бұрын
@@techfixPOV The black connector with the black/white wires that powers the attachments. At about 3:50. I'm shocked by how much dust has accumulated on the innards in a years' usage. The suction started decreasing until hair would pile up at the top of the bin where the tube feeds into it and we would get a blockage warning. Cleaned it out, washed the filter, etc...and it would do the same thing. Opening it up, there are places where the dust is 3/8" deep! I can see how that would upset the operation. I'm guessing we should have cleaned the HEPA filter more often, so the airflow speed stays high enough to sweep those intricate vortex tubes clean. I really appreciate your video. It will be my guide to getting it all back together!

@@techfixPOV Unless I can find a better way, I'm going to use the "two chopsticks" method that I saw on "Open Me Up". Seems pretty crude, but the dust in piling up here and I have to get this cleaned and back together before I end up on Santa's naughty list.

I’m interested in seeing the part where you take the gold plastic piece off the motor body there’s some purple foam in between the two gold pieces. How do I repair that purple foam seal? Mine is deteriorating and I could feel air blowing through. You skipped that part in your video.

Hiii what would your recommendation be for when the cyclone motor body gets wet. For context my bf vacuumed beer up on a Saturday night so Monday night I made sure to clean my Dyson parts and dusted off the cyclone body, also let it rest our side so that any moisture could dry. This morning I woke up to it drizzling, I haven’t tested it out as I’m waiting for it to hopefully air dry. So idk I’m just looking for guidance on what to do since warranty doesn’t cover it and they’re out of stock right now. Thank you

In situations like this, the first thing you should do is disconnect the battery. The battery is very easy to remove, you don't need a screwdriver. == If you do not disconnect the battery and liquid has reached the electronic board, the process of oxidation of the exposed components will begin, the oxidation being much accelerated in the areas where there is voltage. Things get even worse if you try to use the vacuum cleaner.== After that, dismantle everything you can dismantle (filter, dust container). It would be preferable to dismantle the Cyclone case and make sure that no liquid has reached the electronic board. You should also wash the filter to avoid the unpleasant smell that appears when you use the vacuum cleaner.
