Spread the baking soda with your hand. This will help it get in to the topper. Then instead of the vacuum attachment, just put the whole vacuum on the bed like it were a carpet. The beater will help get everything up.

I watch your videos on Monday night whilst watching telly in bed. A couple of things that I have learnt that help my stress when cleaning is I have an oven where the door retracts, I have a stainless steel cook.top as black glass stressed me out. I do not have tiles on my backsplash as grout get stained from cooktop. I have shampooed carpets, washed windows, cleaned all bathrooms and toilets and now relaxing watching you. Best wishes from Tasmania Australia. Debbie Reynolds 😊

Thanks for the reminder. I read an article on YT that showed how to do it. I forgot. Glad I found yours. I am an old/er lady and I have been having itch problems around my neck, chin and collar bone. It gets so bad sometimes, it makes me get up and sleep in my recliner (of course, several cats like that idea. I don't know who keeps who warm.) No BB that I am aware of. I check the walls at heard of my bed and in the creases. (Had them many years ago so have idea what to look for). After omitting other possible things that might be causing my itching, I decide it was time to try the mattress cleaning. I'll let you know if things improve for me after doing that.

Great tips & arm workout too! Lol 💪 I remember my Grandma would vacuum the sheets on every bed every day before she made them! And if it was a sheet washing day she would vacuum the mattresses. So everyone should know the mattress "dust" is mostly skin cells which will form a loose oily paste if you compress it. And even worse, if you look at it under a microscope, you will see a multitude of dust mites eating it. That's why I vacuum my mattresses every time I wash the sheets and keep repeating until almost nothing comes up into the dust cup.

@Poznog
@Poznog 4 жыл бұрын
I spray mine with vinegar, just enough to make it damp, not soaking wet. Then I sprinkle baking soda over the entire thing, enough that it will absorb all of the vinegar. Then wait for it to thoroughly dry. Once you're sure everything is dry, vacuum it all up! It works really well. You can also remove stains from carpets (test in an inconspicuous place, first), clothes, upholstery (also test first) and it even works for pet accidents! You may need to repeat the process a few times, in those cases.

This is awesome!! Do you have any tips on cleaning pillows?
@JamiesJourney
@JamiesJourney 6 жыл бұрын
I've always just washed my pillows in the washing machine and then dried them on low heat in the dryer. It obviously will depend on the type of pillows you have too. I also throw in some tennis balls in the dryer, along with the pillows, to help fluff them up while they dry!

That's great! I use a cotton fabric mattress cover that does help between cleanings too!

Jamie's Journey I have one from I think Target or Bed bath and beyond ... I like the plastic one as it helps with allergies but most importantly heavy period days when you leaked 🙈🙈🙈🙈

I've heard vacuuming baking soda can damage the machine because they aren't designed for the fine particles. Did it cause you any trouble?

It did not but this was also an older vacuum.

@omgwtf696969 Oh, I was referring to the baking soda. Now that I re-watch I can see it may have been misunderstood. I watched several other videos recommending water and vinegar to clean other parts of the house.

Hydrogen peroxide is leaving a white cast on my mattress as if it bleached the mattress! I don’t see no reviews of people having issue 🤦🏽‍♀️ but now I have a stain gone and one part of the mattress super white 🥺
