This method works really well on the Black Stone or any other rolled steel flat top. I use the baking soda and water along with a pumas stone and my griddle comes out like new every time! Another great video my friend. Can't wait for the live chat tonight!

What scrub did you use to clean?
@cronchy6163 Жыл бұрын
Did you just wipe it with oil at the end or heat it as if seasoning cast iron? Just wondering as the manual says not to season it

I have issues with black spots all over my hot zone even after a deep clean. Cooked some bacon and I can’t get those spots to come off. The nonstick of my Sierra griddle has been rather disappointing
@Aromaniak2 жыл бұрын
Hey Tommy another great video. I gotta tell you, that nonstick griddle looks like a serious PITA. I feel like a standard carbon steel griddle is a much easier surface to maintain, not to mention, I’ve never had any sticking issues once seasoned. My favorite part about a griddle is smacking it around with metal utensils, I don’t think I would enjoy it as much with plastic and being paranoid that I would scratch it.

Hi Sean, thanks for watching and also the comment... Actually this is a pretty easy surface to maintain as nothing sticks if properly cleaned. Just to be clear, I let the griddle get dirty on purpose so I could film this video. Sean, appreciate you watching....

Hi Sean, my neighbor has a Blackstone and I have this one. We do neighborhood parties and cook side by side. Both are fantastic until it comes time to clean----I can clean up in minutes. Both put out amazing food!

Looks great! Can you do a cook sometime on the griddle using a cast iron pan for something. Show us good technique on using metal on the surface plus a fabulous tasting cook!
@thegalleryBBQ2 жыл бұрын
Will do Jon. Although not sure what id do using a cast iron pan. Any ideas???
@normy312 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure either, maybe sauces, cheese sauces, chicken parmigiana, deep dish pizza? There are so many of us take your word at face value meaning if you say it, you mean and believe it. So if you say it's possible to use the pans on the surface without worry, that's good enough for me. Maybe a pro tip for the best technique or a product that could be used underneath and still allow heat transfer? I watch other youtubers have pans then slide them around on that surface but don't mention it to us it's okay or not? I mentioned cast iron because I see your pans on the wall. Keep up the great content, looking forward to your Sunday Burger show. Cheers! Jon

Surprised that the grill top isn't treated like a cast iron pan. Seasoning makes food not stick, scrubbing like this removes seasoning and you'd need to scrub every time?
@Aromaniak2 жыл бұрын
I believe its a ceramic nonstick surface. Thats why he uses plastic tools on it.

Chris. That is interesting. Im guessing it works>?
@chriszingler45482 жыл бұрын
@@thegalleryBBQ yes. Same concept that you used in the video, water and the salt. I’ve done this with my Weber porcelain enameled cast iron pans. But again, this isn’t an all the time occurrence, I did this once on a tough sticky spot. The majority of my cleaning is with those scrapers that you recommended and water.
