Bob, I have an SD501, & have sent it to the company for a deep clean one time thus far. My sponsor has been using the same deep clean method for years, & I'll be using this technique for next cleaning. I appreciate your demo, which was specific & offered clear, organized instructions. It's a "greener" method since no shipping is needed, it saves money & prevents folks from having to part with their SD501 for days!! I wanted to compliment you on a job well done!!! Peace, Barb

Enagic provides very good instructions an cleaning powder for customers to use. The instructions they provide, however, require the cleaning solution to sit still inside the machine. I thought that if the cleaning solution would continue to move through the plates the cleaning would become more effective, so that is how I came up with the idea. I wanted to offer my customers a self-serve approach so they can do this deep cleaning on their own, and I think it is more effective than the standard.

Hi EBPization. I agree, you should use extra of the Citric Acid cleaning powder because of the larger quantity of water. I usually put one scoop in the cleaning cartridge, and two scoops in the water basin, and that has worked really well for me.

Thanks for the video!!! We needed this for our distributors! I use more citric acid than that and I mix it in the water first, before putting the pump in the water. I use a pH meter to test it. If the machine is very scaled, I get the pH down to 1.75 for best results. Also, I use Beauty Water to start with, since it's already acidic. That way you need less citric acid than if you use tap water.

Angelize1218, in the first part of the procedure when the cleaning solution is going through the machine, the machine is NOT connected to the sink because it is connected to the aquarium pump instead. But, after the cleaning solution was used, I moved the ionizer over to the sink and connected it to the sink faucet so I could run fresh water through the ionizer to flush out the cleaning solution.

Hi Angelize1218. These two hose clams are very common and you will find them at any hardware store. Just tell the store clerk you need a hose clamp to secure a 3/4" hose and they should know exactly what you need. I should have made a better close up of them in the video, but I added a link in the video description (you will have to click the "Shore More" link beneath the video) where you can see a good still shot image of the type of hose clamp that is used.

Thank you for providing us with the instructions. When it comes to selecting a pump, what GPH (172, 291, 370, or 656) would you recommend to get? If this cleaning is performed bimonthly would it replace it the deep cleaning with acid that's recommended annually?

I wouldn't want to advise differently than what your owner's manual recommends. But I personally perform this procedure every few months. It really seems to rejuvenate the machine every time.

RipeLyfe, I don't have the answer for you, but I've wondered this, too. I believe it's lime as well as calcium...& I clean out my BPA-free 1/2 gallon jug(s) after 2-3 days of filling/refilling, by using about 1/4 cup of "9% acidity vinegar," & shaking the jug with this vinegar for about 30 seconds.Otherwise the calcium/lime will coat the bottom of the jug & make the jug appear cloudy/dirty. Then rinse jug using the acidic h2o, 2-3 times (lid on, & shake well) to get rid of vinegar smell.

i believe it is lime scaling that is sticking to the plates and clogging the hoses. i can feel tiny bumps of lime scale forming inside the glass i use to drink after a few days if i only drink alkaline water from it. does anybody know how this consumption of lime scale is effecting our bodies? will this lime scale collect and clog our organs?

Hello! Great video, and brilliant idea. Regarding the citric acid, did you add more than required for a usual monthly cleaning? I would think the water bath would dilute the citric acid. Thanks!

Why did you run the water through the filter instead of the CPU? Is this the way Enagic cleans the machines? Great video! Thank You
@VeryHealthyWater10 жыл бұрын
I took the filter out and replaced it with the cleaning cartridge, and I placed some of the citric acid in the cleaning cartridge. The water goes through the cleaning cartridge and through the ionization chamber. To run the water through the plates, that's the way to do it. I do NOT recommend running the citric acid through the filter so be sure to remove it and replace it with the cleaning cartridge.

Hello! Not sure if my question made it a few days ago. I'm curious about the amount of cleaning solution to use. it seems that the water bath would dilute the solution and therefore more is required than a typical monthly cleaning amount. What do you think? Thanks!

Regarding the aquarium pump, I went to a local pet store and found a submersible aquarium pump with a 3/4 inch outlet. Look in the video description for a link to a similar pump you can purchase online for $42 USD.

What was the size of your submersible pump?

Hi Ignacio. If you are viewing the video on its KZbin page, click the "Show More" button beneath the video, and you will see that I have provided the specifications for the water pump, hose, etc. And, I provided a link to where you can purchase a suitable size pump on Amazon.com. Hopefully that will help. Here's a link to the KZbin page... How to Deep Clean Your Water Ionizer for Best Water Ionization Results
