Thank you for sharing these tips. Just did my first hour of water jogging in the pool and enjoyed it. Tomorrow, I'll use your noodle idea.

Finally! Someone who teaches water running that actually mimics running on land. In all the other videos I've watched coaches are instructing you to basically climb stairs. They tell clients to bring the knee up and foot straight down while keeping a perfectly vertical posture. That is not the way we run on land, that is the way we climb stairs. Thank you for sharing what I believe is a much better technique and the way I instruct my clients to run in deep water...hinged slightly at the hip flexor, with the leg performing a full stride forward and pushing backwards.

Whenever I have a training question, you already have an interesting and informative and entertaining video availability. Thank you.

Thanks for the video Taren. Not sure about the noodle and exaggerated lean forward in the water. Agree that drills are the way to go. I'm currently cranking out about 3-4 hours per week in the 'grannie lane' at 6am. Boy, you should see me celebrate when I actually overtake someone!! :-)

Thanks for this video. Thankfully my local swimming pool has buoyancy belts for anyone to use so I gave it a try without the risk of making the purchase of the belt. I did about 10 mins after I finished a training swim and I found it quite good. I will certainly try it for longer next time.

I’m on my second week of pool running. I’m completely out of shape, so I’m only doing 30-40 mins, but I’m burning calories and hope to see some results soon! I thought it would be better to start in a pool instead of trying to go back to road or treadmill running. Thanks for the tips!!

Thanks for the fun video. This was made in 2017, I hope that you are using a proper aqua jogging belt nowadays. That one is pretty - useless. With a professional belt aqua jogging is very effective form of training. Yes, I do (deep water) aqua running in the sea.

Please enlighten me, what would be a proper Aqua jogging belt? I have not run across a good one, I was a much heavier guy but now I’m smaller at around 250 but still looking for something decent a real belt. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated

Forward lean comes from ankles - not the hip hinge. I suspect you well know this but the video may confuse folks!

Do you have to use the belt and noodle?

Re: mental engaging...listen to music, wear earphones (I wear a nylon cap and clip the MP3 player to it or try Bluetooth earbuds...your head is never underwater when aqua jogging.)

I run everyday in the pool. It isn't that hard. Just be aware of your body position

How about the shallow water run. Our pool is not that deep and I’m fighting an injury from falling on steps on to my upper bum. Shitty northeast snow🤬
