I don’t understand why this doesn’t have more views, they small details you use in history and how you apply them to code geass is frickin amazing man.

Looking back at the series there’s another reason why lelouch looked successful against Britannia in comparison, Britannian military was just too confident with themselves and let their guard down in a way, and funny enough it actually makes sense why given how they turned Japan into area 11. Later on lelouch losing to cornelia in his first attempt at her makes sense, she was confident but didn’t let that blind her as the fight wasn’t over and she knew that. That said one thing to remember, not just with military stuff but with most things in general, is to not drop your guard.

Well I guess Lelouch didn't lie when he said Euphimia was his strongest foe, though Lelouch would have probably willingly triggered a Euphinator incident if anyone else tried the peacefull approach

True, though I think the SAZ would have fallen apart one way or another. I think Euphemia was well intentioned, but I don't think her project would have lasted in the long term. Years of hatred and racist propaganda don't disappear overnight which would have eventually led to conflict and probably the other Areas would have demanded their own zones with their Viceroys not even willing to entertain the idea. Just goes to show as Gomi-San has illustrated, Britannia's racist and elitist ideology that they take such pride is in fact their greatest weakness.

Britania lost since emperor was only interested in the geass project and ignore/didnt care about everything else...

True, but Schneizel was clearly still involved in the administration of the empire.

@@gomi-san Ye but Schneizel didnt make his mid about wtf he want to do until Suzaku propose emperor asasination. To thath point he was more of advaisor then a enforcing/ruling party.

Interesting video, though I have some criticisms which deal more in how jumbled this does seem that in some cases I almost feel like the background footage can be more distracting than helpful. Another point to the feeling jumbled part is that while it is being informative it doesn't really flow with the point the video's title proposes; or to put it another way it is informative while at the same time being a mess that makes it hard to follow and get the intended message said title promises. Maybe putting points like point 1. (Insert Key Point of Topic) be helpful for your audience. I know when I first watched this I felt I was missing huge chunks of information despite giving it my full attention. You don't have to go full Military History Visualized, but at least having more structure to show moving from point to point be helpful for your audience to not get confused or feel lost.

This is the second time i copied this comment from another video, since i feel it would have taken too much time to basically retype my points here in a different commment. Here it is: I don’t believe Euhpies special administrative zone would have worked in the first place. Britannia was simply too corrupt for something this simple and I dare say weak to just completely change the entire country. And before people start with “well it’s a small change and the system could have changed bit by bit”, remember, Euhpie gave up her right to the throne and her role as a member of the royal family. While this doesn’t mean that she wouldn’t at all have any kind of control over the SAZ, that would not be able to hold back the corruption and racism that Brittania still had. Not to mention Schneizel along with Cornelia at this time in the series do not at all care about the Japanese. They only care about their own country, people and own goals, and at this time in R1 still have a hatred of Japanese whether it be passive or not. So with people like Schneizel especially there’s not guarantee that he would not spread corruption and manipulation into the SAZ. (Edit): Although you did say that the corruption would be disguised a lot better if they didn’t take such radical and damaging actions towards the Japanese, like mass genocide, I think I’ve Meade clear here that the corruption would still be there. And this goes without talking about the near countless amounts of brittanians who not only don’t support euphie but would possibly come into the zone with their hatred, prejudice, and racism towards the Japanese still intact. Which would only bring further corruption. The way that Euphemia would go about changing Britainnia is, like with Suzaku, a naive thing. And would only prevent Brittania from getting the retribution that they deserved. Along with that, reformation with how deeply, deeply, and I mean deeply corrupt and evil the empire is would take an extremely long time. Decades if not centuries. And as time passes, time will be wasted with how many Japanese continue to be oppressed, and the world continues to wage war. Ruining and destroying countless lives in the process. This is actually a historical fact when it comes to reformation. (I do admit, I am still learning quite a lot about history. But long story short I don’t think Reformation or Revolution is a route I would ever take) Just because the U.S. established reforms after winning the civil war did not mean that racism and oppression automatically disappeared. In fact the racism and oppression that did exist in the war was barely dampened, and unfortunately went on to not only have a passive chokehold on African Americans, but the effects from both this oppression and the oppression and slavery before the civil war destroyed the culture of near millions of African Americans. And mind you, it took nearly a century for this oppression and racism to be complete blotted out. And mind you, we still see snippets of it today, even though it is widely decreasing. Point is, Lelouch was right when Euhpie first announced at Ashford academy that the SAZ would be established. It would never work, and Lelouch himself already thought about that and thought about the negative consequences it would create. (Edit): I am aware that you made clear that performing the peaceful and heart to heart actions that Euphie was engaging in would better push for reform and would mitigate the effects of corruption and further discourage resistance. But like I have made clear before, the corruption would not go away for a long time. Along with that Euphy would likely come to feel powerless as she realizes that when she renounced her claim to the throne took power away from her. A big gripe I have with this show is that it doesn’t show that what Euhpie is doing is doomed to fail at all in fact. It presents it as purely simple. An easy fix. When in reality it was anything but that. People often think of revolution as being quite utilitarian. Do the mass bloodshed and war justify a time of peace? One might ask. And this is true when it comes to revolution. Along with that it is also a proven historical fact that revolutions and rebellions more often fail or turn into a crucible of revenge and other possibly more brutal forms of oppression. But people also fail to see the utilitarian aspects of reformation. Was the end result of a peaceful country that has had its corruption almost completely removed and protecting the dignity of every single person in it worth it, when that said positive out come required a few decades or even a century of oppression that was not blotted out as quickly as possible and continued to fester? Was it really worth it when in that extremely long time people’s lives were continuing to be ruined or destroyed along with their own dignity? (Edit): Was it really worth it when people who experienced the peak of that past oppression wouldn’t live to see the peaceful outcome that the reformation would create due to either age or oppression? Was it truely worth it when entire cultures were destroyed and new more immoral ones were created in the same community? Was it really worth it if these said scars would last far into the future? I suppose it’s a question of which is the greater and lesser evil. Edit: In response to all of this, there’s no guarantee that Lelouch would completely go to the reform route and try to combat Brittainias corruption peacefully from within. It would be more consistent with his character if after a long while of spending time in the SAZ, and seeing the corruption not going away, he would simply return to his rebellious ways, and would also make sure to show to the black knights, the Japanese and brittainia that Euphies plan did not work in the process. In fact, he may have had this as a back up plan. In case things didn’t work.
