It was about one or two years(I believe two..) ago I first heard about the manga Apple Black and decided to give it a try. I remember reading the first chapter and being quite impressed. Therefore, that left me anticipating more of this manga. Every time I read the manga or viewed the art, it always reflected on my mind on how under rated it was. I had not read the manga in a long time due to being busy with other things, but not too long ago I saw this video on my recommendations and it instantly took me back. It seems like this is gaining more popularity and I really am glad. You really have a lot of potential. Keep it up!

I feel more inspired to draw than I've ever been before, dude is so helpful and inspirational when he talks about how he has done his art and made his style his own. I wanna do big things with my art and this guy has just lit up my fire to do better with what I already have and take it to new heights.

Well, the way you draw different set of eyes and nose could help cure a same face syndrome! Even though the eyes and nose would have to be drawn in the same kind of style, it still helps to find ways to draw different kind of eyes! I know some artist that the nose is there trademark but not everyone has the same nose ;)

Its interesting, the influence of Japanese animation and how they normalized European phenotypes to appeal to the West. Even creators that don't look like that follow this tradition as its seemingly deemed more legitimate. In attempts to be more diverse creators of all backgrounds put darker skin or curlier hair on structurally European facial types; burrowing from other ethnicities (especially full lips) to create the ideal human image which is essentially the European one according to the imagination of creators. Its so powerful some creators even imagine themselves with these Euro inspired phenotypes. Its fascinating, the Japanese did a brilliant job identifying and profiting off of this hierarchal social structure.

is learning different art styles good? Reason is cause I want to learn how to draw in a cartoon style. but throughout my drawings they're in a manga style. btw this video helped me a lot ^^!!

Hiroya Oku of GANTZ drew in many different styles before he settled on the semi Manga semi realistic style of GANTZ. His first Manga HEN was very cartoony and his second ZERO 1 was very realistic. After gauging the success of those he decided to mix them up for what became one of the most popular Manga to date. So yes to answer your question, it is good to learn many styles because you never know what might look good when mixed together

i dont understand!!!!!!! I can't "find my own style"!!!! I can't, I just don't understand!!!😞😳😭😓 I can't "define" anything. I'm terrible. I cant draw a body correctly. I can't shade, I can't draw hands, I can't figure out a "personality", I cant do ANYTHING correctly. My eyes are decent, even though I can only do open eyes, my noses are terrible, my ears are horrific, and my mouths are just... no! I don't have a "style". When I copy a picture/character I find fascinating, I can't do it. Me, the "can-do", "never give up", above average kid is finally accepting that he cant do something. I can master EVERYTHING. Well, I thought so before trying anime/manga. People have to many expectations for me. Even my classmates use "well he's on your team" as an excuse when we (always) win. Finally I've stumbled upon something I was ready to do, that I was ready to run along with, and I JUST CAN'T!!! I've been "trying" to draw since I was 7, when I first discovered Manga and Anime. When I was that age it was acceptable, and after all this time I have had no improvement. I don't think I'll ever get better. I just don't think that I'll ever "master" an "art style". Unless mediocre is counted as a "style". Should I just give up and stop? Or should I go to my expectations and keep trying until it's right? I didn't notice until I typed this that I was a perfectionist. Such as symmetry, I hate things that are not symmetric. So guys, can I just get some tips on what to do about this? On how to draw wounds, scars, eyes, nose, and mouth, and any other drawing/ sketching important things like outfits and personality. I just need any advice you can give me.
