Well I am all in for lily and sano. These two characters together actually complements each other . They can also also egage the plot of the story and freshen things up a little. Although I also like Opal but I will ship her more with the other guy who was with her during the rescue arc.

Is there any particular reason manga creators tend to give they story over to a successor and would you do that? I always wondered how come they just dont end it there i look at the story as being they child and personally i dont think id be willing to just hand it over to someone else i do understand they oversee the story I guess this also apply to American comics as well like spiderman

Comics and manga are panels on a page telling a story. The difference is the reading orientation. But, you can have an American manga read from left to right.

I think there's more nuance to this than the example you provide, like rap is a whole music genre while anime and manga were simply Japanese equivalent terms for animation and comics that we adopted to define Japanese productions quicker. Now the terms have broadened to become a kinda nebulous branding gimmick and it makes defining things a bit confusing, like anime and manga are not defined by story or art styles because while there are trends and such they ultimately vary between different productions. I personally stick to the "Japanese production of X medium" definition cause it makes for simple distinctions, but I have nothing against western comics and publishers adopting a Japanese inspired approach, it's just a question of practicality at least for me.

What you're saying is true, but the weak part of this argument is also implying that when people talk about these words in North America, they're talking about them all as having the same content / artistic inspiration, which is clearly untrue. The differences are in the artistic movements that are ongoing and are inspiring the content. We don't have better words for them so we call them "manga" or "anime", when in reality what they really are are artistic movements like French New Wave was a movement in film. It's just really hard to draw a box around a specific movement because they change and cross over so often.

Yep, they’re the same at the core, and to the Japanese readers, Superman would just be a “manga” to them as well as Adventure Time being an “anime” (even if they actually has their own terms such as “Ame Comi” and so on. Still, now that manga and anime has become mainstream and specific terms are becoming more of a common knowledge , it’d still be a little weird for people to call cartoon as anime and comic as manga. XD
