I just want to say that i LOVE how protective we are against anyone shaming her hair. We must make this a thing a cover each other as natural black women. Also , my first curl just springs from what’s barely an Afro lol. That’s what led me here. ❤️👑

I just did it on Wednesday after not relaxing it since the end of April. Once there was like 2 inches of new growth, I felt brave. Ordered these "kinky" clip ins for when I want a different look. Be diligent on the maintenance, and whatever decision you make, own it! Happy Summer!

I have used this brand of gel, and have found that occasionally the thickness of this product varies from jar to jar!!! not sure why! but when I find that any product is to thick for distributing through my hair, I place it in a pot of warm-hot water and let it sit! It helps distribute product, and does not flake or become too stiff in my hair! never used the "coconut styler gel"

I have been natural for about 7 months...and I have 4c hair... and one thing I truly learned is that what may works for someone else.. does not always for you...and Gel is one of them... my hair absolutely hates it...it becomes dry and brittle no matter how much I moisturize and condition it... it simply does not like it... so I have to use oil based products... and nothing too heavy... and works for me...this is a cute style.. I just know using gel alone...this wouldn’t work for me...thanks for the video.

You have thick hair JUST LIKE MINE ❤ I’ve been keeping it short because it’s easier to manage. I miss two strand twisting so I’m trying to grow it back out, my hair is about the same length maybe a tad bit longer. Thick hair is HARD to do, and sis you slayed this 👏🏽❤️ Im the same with ALL eco gel, I like it for curl definition but ugh too many products don’t go with it. I have to mix my products with that gel and I mean I doesn’t matter which it is. I always check if it’ll mix smooth or make my product turn to white little balls 😑I have a love dislike relationship with eco style gel. Murray’s Edgewax works amazing as well for edges!!

I like the end result, but it seems like too many steps. Also, the music was distracting.

Maybe a curl activator gel would have given this 4c or d? hair a curl but it was prettier before she added the gel and I cannot see any curls. I would have just left it picked out and walked.

esame nsume Someone is setting you up for failure. Maybe Not on purpose, but the relaxer will make your hair like super straight. That’s what relaxers are for. You will have no more curls.

I'm not sure about breakage but gel always makes me have more dandruff and my scalp looks white and flaky in the areas I put the gel at. I have tried numerous gels. And I end up having to wash my hair the next day.

The reason why you’re experiencing a lot of breakage is because you’re manipulating you hair too much while styling. If you’re going to do that much brushing, your hair should be wet and saturated with a conditioner or leave-in.
