I did everything you told me to do. But my radio (mvh-x580dab) just says connection failed. I have no idea why it does the same thing with the arc app. My phone is a one plus 5t btw.

Please be sure you have the latest firmware installed on your in-dash receiver. As of 2108 December, Spotify will not connect to many in-dash receivers. While we are waiting for an updated app from Spotify here is a work around. 1. Restart your phone and then launch Spotify on the phone. 2. Connect the phone to the in-dash receiver via Bluetooth. 3. Select Spotify as the audio source. 4. If it connects, done. 5. If not, go into the Bluetooth settings of the in-dash receiver and select Connection. Select your phone, do not delete your phone , and it will disconnect. 6. Wait a moment or two and then select your phone again, this time it will connect. 7. Go back to Spotify on the in-dash receiver and it should connect. 8. Now always have Spotify running on the phone, before you connect it to the in-dash receiver. The second option is to use the Bluetooth Audio Source and control Spotify from your phone. You can find more videos from Pioneer here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oH3Omqynl76feKM

The 5900 is an older tuner that doesn't have Spotify control, just a generic Bluetooth control - forward/back, play/pause.

Is there a way to use spotify with an usb wired connection?
@deckerdotto60355 жыл бұрын
On Pioneer DEH-X6900BT the audio signal from Spotify on an Android phone is through Bluetooth. No wired connection is available for this operation. However, if you simply want to charge your phone while listening to Spotify, I recommend to change the USB Auto Setting to Off. This means when you plug in your phone to USB it will charge the phone and not automatically change to the USB source. You can see it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXjVmmpunt-DsKM You can find more videos about Pioneer DEH-X6900BT in this Playlist: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oH3Omqynl76feKM and you can find more videos on Pioneer's You Tube Channel here: kzbin.info

@@deckerdotto6035 The bluetooth is a lossy connection since it doesn't support aptX protocol and, even if it would, the quality would be worse than the usb one. And no, I can't get an used and cheap iPhone which has a decent amount of storage in it and that can run apps.

If you want to play higher quality music I recommend to use a USB Flash drive. You can see it operate here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oYPKoYOanrd8rNE And you can use the Pioneer ARC app to control the system and search songs available on the USB Drive: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJSof2OOhJuJjsU

The Pioneer DEH-S5200BT has a Spotify Source. Please be sure to switch the Spotify Source On in the System Menu. You can see it on a similar Pioneer receiver here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqjSkKqjl56riZY If you are using an iPhone, in the System Menu, please choose the USB setting under App Control. Please be sure switch MTP to Off. The Spotify connection to the receiver when using an Android Based phone will be Bluetooth. The Pioneer DEH-S5200BT also works with the Pioneer Smart Sync App. You can learn more about the Smart Sync App here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qJXFeZ-lZ5eHj7M You can find a full playlist of How To videos from Pioneer about the DEH-S5200BT here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bJSqlmuqpaiFqqc and you can find more videos on Pioneer's KZbin Channel here: kzbin.info

This video is made for the North American market. There may be differences to the product you have. Check the Phone Connection Menu as shown in the video above. Be sure to choose Android and Bluetooth Connection type. Is your phone actively connected through Bluetooth? Are there other phones in the vehicle that may be connected to the in dash receiver? Do you have the Spotify App on your phone? Start the Spotify app on your phone. Change the in dash receiver to the Spotify source.

Doesn’t bluetooth do the same?
@deckerdotto60355 жыл бұрын
No. When using the Spotify Source on the in-dash receiver connected to a phone, you can search for Artists, Playlists, etc, from the in-dash receiver and not touch the phone. When using the Bluetooth Audio source, you can hear music from the Spotify App, and you'll see some on screen text, but no search function is available. You'll need to use the phone for that.
