Really great video. An actual beginning to end walk through. Using a bike is perfect because it costs nothing other than your time. In a car obviously you have to account for fuel etc but a bike is absolutely perfect.

Are the Sealskinz gloves responsive when using your smartphone? I am looking for some decent winter gloves that work well when I am out walking and listening to podcasts. Cheers Phil! Yes the Sealskinz gloves are touch screen gloves. They are pretty responsive, sometimes because they are bit chunky you miss the area you are wanting to click but you'll get use to using them with your phone. On the bike they keep my hands warm, when it gets really cold it still works well but it may take a bit of time for your hands to warm up. They are great because they are waterproof and it's hard to find gloves that are touch screen, keep your hands warm and are waterproof!

Hello, I have a couple of questions. I've been Doordashing and UberEATS by car since July 2022. Since the weather is finally starting to clear up I was thinking of using my bike more (for personal use and gig work with DD/UE). Just wanted to ask do you normally take your bicycle inside restaurants when you have no option to lock it outside? Also, is biking with the standard tote bags from DD/UE doable? I was thinking of enforcing some cardboard inside of my UE bag (the one mainly used by drivers - not the backpack) and attaching a carabiner through the loop of my backpack (hoping it stays in place). I don't mind getting a backpack in the future, just wanted to see if I could work with what I currently have now. Edit: Got myself an insulated backpack and tried it out a couple of weeks ago. Overall, it went pretty well. Only managed to get 2 orders (since it was the end of lunch rush), but it wasn't too bad. I recently bought myself a u-lock (since the only lock I had was a cable lock), so I'm hoping to get out more whenever possible.

Make sure you have a cup holder in your bag, riding a bicycle can be tricky when delivering drinks. Make sure your drinks lids are secure because the drink can spill.

My dad has an electric bike shop in Nottingham called PoweredBicycles. He designed my bike a very long time ago! That won't last 5-6 hours mate...I have a 17.5amp battery and it lasts me like 4-5 hours when I'm on max power so you would probably need 20amp or x2 10 amp batteries.

Man I tried this an uber insist on sending me to all the ghettos and if already had to dangerous encounters where they snatched a customers food out of my hand..... Then I got reported by the customers complaining they didn't get the food even though one of them saw the incident...... not worth it where I live..... I have lots of nicer neighborhoods around me but somehow I only get the dangerous neighborhoods like its in the apps algorithms

You're considered self-employed. Just make sure you set aside money for taxes after each weekly payout (some suggest 15.3% of your earnings but it may vary where you're from). Like this you won't have to worry too much when tax season comes and you'll have enough to essentially pay off the taxes you owe. If you do delivery by car you can either write off your miles or write off the expenses of your car (i.e. gas, maintenance, etc.). If you do delivery by bike you can only write off expenses such as maintenance on your bike.

How come when i start the delivery, the blue "navigate" button in the bottom right doesn't show up even though I have google maps downloaded and selected in uber eats app. I've only been able to see the blue navigate button to open google maps when navigating to random busy places on the map, but even that stopped working now.

It might be because there are more drivers online now, alot of people are joining so uber is becoming over saturated. Make sure you are as close to the restaurant as possible at all times, else other drivers that are closer than you are will get the trips. Remember if there are only a few orders and too many drivers, you are all fighting for the next trip. Make sure you are as close as possible, your signal is strong and your phone is not slow. Else you will lose opportunities

Believe me i myself am battling. I stay 500m from restaurants and i wont get anything because there are other drivers closer than i am and there are not enough trips to go around. If a driver is closer than you are, gets a trip, and by the time the next order comes in that same driver has returned, he will het the next trip cos he is still closer. Also you might only get trips that are either collecting or delivering in the direction your last trip took you. Yes its ridiculous but it happens to me alot. Trips keep coming where i sit but i dont get it because it is going the opposite direction of where i last delivered. Also ensure you do not owe uber money, because you will only be considered for trips paid online.

Hey man, when the order first comes on your app, it shows the pickup location and the customer's street/road, but no postcode or anything. So basically you just have to guess. Is there any settings/buttons on the app that pops up when the order comes and it chimes, where you can see the cust's address on a map? It does not seem to show you any map at all at that stage. Only after you have picked up do you get a map! 😞
