This is the sixth video in this series about how to design a CPU. In the previous video we learned how to build simples adders as a step toward building a full ALU.
In this video we learn how to create a more sophisticated 2-bit adder by using Karnaugh maps. Given the outputs of a function, Karnaugh maps are a tool that helps us figure out the Boolean algebraic expression for the function. Then, with this expression, it is easy to create a Boolean schematic to describe the circuitry.
