I like the camera glasses. What a good idea using the mirrors and just doing 1/8 of a design at a time!

It makes playing with the design so fast and easy! Definitely give it a try!

I think the glasses worked well, especially considering this is your first video using them. I agree that moving the glasses down will help us see more, but it take talent to video and communicate your message through words and action, and you do a great job. Also, I hadn't even considered a walking-foot whole-cloth quilt but now will try it! The glasses even look cute - at least on you!

What a clever idea! I didn't really notice you moving your head until you mentioned it at the end, so to me it didn't affect my watching of the video. Looking forward to seeing the finished quilt with whatever pattern you choose.

These glasses may be a challenge as we all move our head more than we might think. It worked very well for you. I look forward to seeing how you get on with them. Love your videos. Thank you.

I really like the way the video looks with the glasses! I say, keep using them ;-) I also enjoyed seeing how you go about finding the right design. Thank you, Barbara

Actually that method is really good. Your head does move around but not excessively and I had no problem visualising what you were looking at. I also thought the mirrors were a great idea. I love your instructions especially on straight line quilting ( mainly because my feed dogs don't go down and using the cover plate makes it impossible to free motion quilt). Maybe one day I can get a machine where I get all I want - if I live long enough. Thank you for everything. Best wishes Colin

On another video (perhaps it was Patsy Thompson - not sure) she mentioned that someone she knew used a piece of the stiff template plastic which she then cut holes in for the feed dogs. The plastic was taped in place and then the super slider was placed over that - it helped to protect the slider from the feed dogs and the machine worked just fine. Leah - thought of you and your nibbled slider bits! LOL. My feed dogs haven't made much of a dent in mine but I was thinking of giving this method a try.

like the glasses and looking forward to see you using them - as far as the quilt some would depend on what colors you use .... white on white/bone on bone/color (1or more) on white ---- do you know yet what colors??

I'm not a big fan of white quilts because I swear I can look at white fabric and it will be stained. I'm planning to make this with dark red batik fabric instead.

Hi Leah, I love the way this video is filmed. I love all your videos, you are very inspiring. I was just wondering what design programme you use on your computer. Looking forward to the next video.

I use Serif Draw Plus for drawing the design on the computer. I'm glad you like this new camera!

I thought the camera worked great. Also, I thought since I don't have mirrors like that and would hate trying to hunt them down and then prevent my extended family from traveling or breaking them, I could do your sliver technique, scan to computer and then reproduce to look at onscreen as a preview. more labor intensive, but if you have teens, young school kids, and young women randomly traveling through your area keeping two fair sized mirrors would be a remote possibility!

These mirrors are only around 5 inches square. I have a 9 year old and lots of craft tools and gear out all the time. My rule is you break it, you buy it, and he only had to replace a few things before he learned to respect my things and respect his own.

Hello Leah where do you buy the design you put on you're computer and what it is called
@LeahDay8 жыл бұрын
This is the Love the Light wholecloth quilt and I'm designing it for my new book on walking foot quilting. It's going to be awhile before it's ready, but I'll definitely keep you posted!
