I know what you mean about your brain not working in an abstract way! Anytime I've tried abstract nails they end up looking like a 4 yr old did them. But you have a gift and I love how these turned out! If you would have just put two L's on the nail at slightly different heights and called them abstract I would have cried! LOVE these!

best tip i ever got for doing "random" patterns of things came from a makeup artist doing fake freckles - you do two next to each other, then one way off elsewhere, then repeat. makes a good pattern and is quick to do. love your videos jo!

I struggle with abstract stuff, too. I did some swirly roses on my nails yesterday and I really tried to not think about it, tried to force myself to go a bit faster and not obsess about placement. I finished up, stretched my hand out for a final look and there they were.....all in a row!!!!😂😂😂

I totally understand the brain not fonctioning abstractly thing, I'm the same. The manucure I currently have is abstract but I just HAD to have some order and decided to redo two nails to make them the same cause I felt like my nails looked like a 5 year old drew them. Yet, when I look at abstract nail art on KZbin, it looks so simple and beautiful! I guess it's just harder for some (like you and I) to make our hand draw something cohesive without having a clear picture in mind first. Anyway... I love these and I will try to recreate them using products I have. Thank you for the inspiration!

I like the word blobby for things that are blobbish and can't think of a single better word. These turned out very cute! I'm the same, not great with the abstract. I like things to make sense. I love the look of abstract stuff (well, at least some of the time) but I'm the same way, my rational (perhaps slightly OCD😅) brain just doesn't let me do it. Maybe some Bailey's would help! I would just call the blobby things "irregular", though tbh I think blobby is a perfectly acceptable descriptor. Glad to hear you sounding like you feel better!
