I've been having trouble with the Scanning to 3d modelling work flow (designing parts around the car) because STL files are a pain to work with in fusion 360 if you could make a video on that it would be great

Been working on a massive kit for the Mx5 NB to make for composites production the last 2 years (hint its not just a hardtop or widebody). As I see more and more videos covering printed body kits I feel the pressure. If I take another year or 2 to develop will I be too late?

I say keep at it. I had plans to make a dash piece to hold my airlift controller with eyeball vents that articulate for a couple years before I even learned any cad software. It’s finally done and I’m glad I followed through

Thanks for sharing! I’m always extremely impressed, especially the big exterior stuff. If the body kit ever takes damage, I hope you decide to share it. I’m very interested in the durability since I’ve never seen this done.

@@DingDongDrift I did. I have the same printer. What I meant is that it looks seamless. I would never guess that it’s printed by looking at it. I would imagine a segmented petg bumper to look more like it’s built of legos

You make better tutorials for modeling than most dedicated modeling channels. I'm looking to start my own channel working on my 1997 Miata and I want to print my own parts for it. Any recommendations for classes or books to learn a modeling software? I already know fusion 360 and solidworks but I'm looking to learn a good mesh software like blender.
@DingDongDrift4 ай бұрын
@@Gandar-px7cs i went to college for this stuff so i never really watched tutorials. Anything i needed to learn that i didn't know was just a quick Google search away so i never like watched tutorial channels you know? The best way to learn for me is to start modeling what you want and when you hit a block, Google the solution. Watching tutorials to me is just a huge flood of information that i just forget later on.

I saw a video where you talked about "live surfaces" and I was interested in finding out more. Nice tool for Maya but I haven't found anything like it for Max. Fusion has a similar feature, but I prefer modeling in Max when possible. Very cool video! Nice to see people showing others how we do it! Haha I saw you boolean!! Cheater.. haha bro I use that tool all the time instead of taking the time to model out surface faces. Quick fan question! - Q: How do figure out thread pattern and type?
