That's the snapping tool. You find it at the top bar looking like a magnet. You can activate by clicking on it - and you have some more advanced settings if you click on the down arrow right next to it. Hope that helped.

There are some letters you can't use this method with or it's hard to. Sometimes you find a workaround like using the new live warp tool of affinity designer 2.0 and sometimes you have to use another effect or word or etc.

Why not use the new Warp tool?

I find this way faster and easier. Of course the new warp tool is possible as well, but you would have to use the quad warp for each letter to have the same quality of effect. The horizontal warp would also curve the top side of the text and using quad with the whole text doesn't get the same quality. But that's just my own opinion and preference, of course it's also possible and a great way to do it with the warp tool.

Good video but you need a better resolution as the menus and words in the menus were blurry and hard to see.

Gicen that AD still doesn't have an Envelope tool, or Contours or Blends, this is a very impressive workaround. Bright people are migrating to this affordable drawing program. Huzzah!

Why does center of the A keep subtracting?

I already had this bug. What helped for me is trying to subtract from the A as a single curve or from the text as a single curve. Hope that helped.@@liljamesunleashdgamingyt7582
