It’s be helpful if you were clearer on this point. Almost every video I’ve seen has unequivocally slammed or condemned Jirard for this situation. No charitable (no pun intended) interpretations at all.

I realise that the two conditions are related and that it is a faux-pas to internet-diagnose mental disorders, but based on Jirard's various deflections, I would say that he is more likely a narcissist than a sociopath/psychopath. If he were completely devoid of empathy, I don't think he would rely on pity-plays this much, as those require at least a baseline understanding of empathy in order to weaponise other people's feelings against themselves. I also don't think he would take it so personally and get so angry about it if the accusation didn't genuinely contradict his self-image as a nice guy. Of course, it could be either, it could even be both, but if I had to pick one I'd bet on NPD over APD.

In the call with Karl and Muta, he really said the he didn't want them talking about his family, and then in his response video he really stressed that he had nothing to do with the golf tournament. I'm assuming that's where the real big boy fraud was happening at the hands of his father or maybe brother, so I think he is simultaneously trying to run cover, but also trying to distance himself from the inevitable fallout. Time will tell, but from what I hear the Khalil family sounds a lot like the Bluth family. There's always money in the golf tournament.

It is an immutable fact that Jirard committed charity fraud and potentially embezzlement. The main question now centers around "mens rea" (criminal intent). Karl and Mutahar release theirs videos, and immediately, Jirard and his family seemingly lawyer up (hence why we hear anything for awhile). Most innocent people wouldn't choose to lawyer up immediately after such serious allegations. While getting lawyers involved is almost always the smart thing to do regardless of guilt but I don't think that Jirard is that smart. If you watch any cop interrogation videos, in almost all of the cases where they are trying to pin a crime on an innocent person, they have an immediate visceral and strong emotional reaction (which is not what happened here). Instead we got this stupidly emotional response weeks after the original allegation. Almost all of the stuff happening on KZbin right now is just the "court of public opinion" and his response video has basically assured that he has lost that fight (it also doesn't help any potential legal battle in the future). As for the response video, it almost guarantied that it was written by someone else; maybe a lawyer or one of his associates/family members. It was crafted as a misdirect more than a true rebuttal to the allegations. Its an attempt to try to gain sympathy with the mom and also redirect the conversation away from the actual crimes. Its very out of touch with how social media and modern discourse works which is why its pretty obvious that Jirard didn't write it (Hes not smart but he does have many years of experience on KZbin; though maybe I am giving him too much credit here). In many ways, the video response also seemingly throws Jirard's career under the bus and shifts the blame away from the Open Hand Foundation itself. Almost every single video I've watched on this subject has not mentioned that there is still a very real possibility that one of the other members of the family committed embezzlement and that Jirard is trying to cover for them. If that is the case, its especially stupid from a legal and public point of view but it does make sense from an emotional one. His father runs the charity and the golf tournament, it wouldn't surprise me if he was the main actor behind all of this. (none of this minimizes Jirard's role in this though). Some any videos are sifting through the past and trying to recontextualize Jirard as a bad guy and while that's probably the case, I personally see him more as a really naive and incompetent scumbag. Either way, all of this is immensely stupid. I do hope that the IRS is already auditing this charity and that the entire family ends up being on the hook for fraud and embezzlement. They should all be punished for using the death of their family member as a means of trying get people to open their wallets.
@AliRadicali

I actually think Jirard wrote the (non)apology, because no other person in the universe would think that was an adequate or convincing response to the situation. I think he is a narcissist and the response video gives us a peek at the sort of rationalisations and self-justifications someone like that will come up with to fit their bad actions alongside their self-image as a good guy. I agree that it is possible he is covering for someone else, although I doubt it would be the father considering one of the misdirections in the video involves mentioning the dad's charity golf tournament.

Really like you said, if he would have stopped less than 2 minutes into his video, then genuinely apologized that I made a mistake for which I am very sorry and the money has now been transferred. And he could have also come up with suggestions for the future on how to be more open about donations...he wouldn't be losing his career now. Maybe a small blow, loss of sponsors and etc, but apologizing leaves the way to another possibility. Because the money was still there, though, and it transferred. But...the end video gave him an aggressive image, of a manipulator who tries to blame others. The viewer wonders what he wants to hide, this image is formed towards the end. Unbelievable how he actually ruined his career after that 2 minutes!

Crazy that the only issue brought forward by Karl and Muta that Jirard actually addressed in his whole apology is the one that matters literally the least... Yeah the document wasn't signed... Okay? Really doesn't matter that Karl got a very small thing wrong. He made an assumption that was incorrect... Alright then. The core of the issue was addressed by lying about it. We know the restricted donation thing is a lie, because of the email response by whoever that was (don't remember if it was Charles or Jacque) and because of Jirard's response in the discord conversation that made literally no reference to that idea (that it was "not cool", in fact).

The exact models of certain gadgets used in the heist, their capabilities, and overexplaining their role in Step 1 under the pretense of this information being vital to the endgame.) It buys a few hours, which is exactly what the crew needed.

After listening to the full audio my conclusion is that he took advantage of the fact that it made him look good and was in no hurry to move it. Regardless of when he found out or always knew, the easiest and most likely answer is that he knew he was lying and then shut down once he found out Muta and Karl were going to post their stories. The lawsuit he alleges is just a final tactic to try to save face but it honestly just makes him look weak. If that was an apology video I think the community would understand if he was actually forthcoming.

I searched your channel (because I had read the title and I could figure out, it was gonna be about Jirard), nothing. I searched your second channel, I even looked for other channels named "Vito" (because apparently there is one fitness douche 😅). I typed the video title, I thought I read in the search bar, no results. I was genuinely like "was I imagining things?". But then I decided, maybe patience will be the answer... 👍🤝

I think modern internet culture has a lot to do with it... This guy has millions of followers and could have been honest... Like brutality honest and said that they set it up for a good cause, but that running the charity became more fun than actually giving the money away. He could have said that it was a mistake and that they will rectify it and pass the charity to someone third party to make sure it is done in an honest way. He and his family would have lost a few hundred thousand subs and it would be forgotten... Now? Well now it's over... Because lying to cover up the mismanagement is much much worse than just admitting they made a mistake.... Hell... It's worse than admitting you're evil and did it because you wanted more money and power.

I think Jirard's lack of accountability has less to do with internet culture and more to do with old-fashioned narcissism. The whole non-apology consists of rationalising and trying to deflect blame back onto the accusers; it's not at all convincing to the audience, which leads me to believe that these are the lies and rationalisations he uses on himself to maintain his self-image as a stand-up guy. He's not apologising or taking responsibility because he doesn't feel like he's done anything wrong; it's his accusers who should feel bad for daring to make allegations about such an upstanding citizen. And he's so delusional he doesn't realise that the lies he tells himself in order to feel like a good guy are not convincing to anyone with a clear view of the facts of the case.

One other point is that, I'm sure that many people have a problem doing their taxes, especially in the USA where it is more complicated, but it's really not THAT complicated, and the completionist just tries playing into that to further confuse normies who experience tax anxiety to excuse his actions. The internal revenue code is simply the core foundational document for the laws governing taxation in the USA and all countries have one. It's a long list of obligations and rights you have as a taxpayer and the page he shows in his video, if actually read by someone, is actually a very succinct and explanatory passage about the history of the bill, why it was introduced and a very short example of what it means, along with a helpful reference to the part of the code which covers this. Even someone who has never touched their taxes with their own hands their entire lives should be able to read and understand this passage. It is far less complex than he is letting on.

So if they leverage idk how they pay it back. Doesn't seem to me they have the skills or connections to launder the money.
