Not exactly. Usually if you want to destroy a format you'd need something that would fundamentally change it, that would make it a nightmare to play and that there is no way around. While it's true that Morganite would be completely broken during Goat era and oftentimes the first person who could activate it would probably win, there were a lot of cards that could be used to have Morganite add depth to the format. Both players would be running it, but they might run something like Graverobber or even Exchange to snatch the opponent's Morganite if they got it first - as well as generic counterplay like Delinquent Duo, Mind Crush, Magic Jammer and Solemn Judgment. Morganite would be a completely format-warping card and it would be sacky win-con if the opponent has no answer in a similar method to Maxx C but oddly I think that Goat decks do have enough wiggle room to make a "Limited to 1 Morganite" add to the game.

TTT it depends on how old we're talking, as well as if people might be able to build a deck around it. Edison for instance has monsters like LADD, Machina Fortress, Absolute Zero, Stardust Dragon or even Card Trooper that a player could force to activate during the Main Phase. It could easily be a side deck card. If you go a little farther into 5D's and talk Tengu format you'd have the Scrap archetype that could easily turn on TTT by using Scrap Golem to summon Searcher to the opponent's field, which also can act as a board wipe. TTT is harder to trigger during Synchro era but still works against a lot of common meta cards. I think you could say TTT is too niche for Goat since the only good ways to trigger it would be to use either something that could trigger a flip monster in the main phase or destroy Sangan during the main phase with Ring of Destruction or something. But really it would get playable pretty quickly.

The best part about sending an Xyz back in time is how people would probably decide it works. Since the effect mentions detaching materials, they'd know that the materials don't just go to the GY like with a fusion summon, but I don't think they'd come up with the concept of overlaying. I think they would be more likely to decide that the materials become equip cards attached to the Xyz monster.

(And even now, Armory Arm and Burner Visor are the only non-Union cards to use it, and they're basically Union monsters in everything but name.) So it would be perfectly reasonable to decide that "unequip" must mean summoning an equipped Union monster, while "detach" means sending an equipped card to the GY.

Honestly got a huge kick out of seeing every card lose to D.D. Warrior Lady. As a kid I pulled her out of a pack and was enamored with the fact that she was shiny (Super Rare) and also GOOD. She has a really special place in my heart as a nostalgic DM-era card and I love seeing her in so many card arts. I keep hoping that one of her retrains will eventually be good. Rookie Warrior Lady might get a deck one day!

@@ayxierl5977 A lot of the time in goat you're just setting and passing anyway, but some of the power of Destruction is seeing what power one-offs you don't need to play around. GOAT has so many stupid one-offs that banishing 4 can usually snipe a few. I was running it and spiked Ring, Snatch Steal, Breaker off the top as well as clearing a set book of moon and it felt so broken- not as broken as Morganite but still very strong

A bit tardy to the party but my suggestion might not be as powerful as time tearing or back up squad. But just as terrifying. Dark Factory of More Production, this card alone could rack up so much advantage throughout a game when paired with a staple like Sinister Serpent. Being able to pitch Serp during you opponents turn drawing 1, drawing for turn, adding it during the standby, pitching it again during the standby to draw a second card. Then once again add it back to hand during that same standby would be really nasty. Although this does compete for your discard for something like Tribe or break. It also could be used to avoid targeting effects like thousands eyes, chaos sorc, and BLS. As well as help fuel so chaos piles by clearing any unwanted thunder dragons

I think Red Reboot has the potential to go crazy in GOAT format since it's riddled with trap cards, but while also not having the vulnerabilities that come with being a trap card (being a target for MST or Breaker the Magical Warrior) and just letting you commit to all of your plays without any drawbacks. The card is already good enough to be banned as it stands, imagine the destruction it would enable in a format that has literally no counterplay aside from a lucky Seven Tools of the Bandit. Then you have the cards that would be harder to get out but would do a lot more. My kneejerk reaction to the thread was Ultimate Conductor Tyranno, who would be impossible to climb over due to its huge stats and its ability to just Book of Moon everything at any point (sidestepping DD Warrior Lady) but the smaller pool of Dinosaur monsters hurts it and really limits your ability to get him on the field. Perhaps Scapegoat + DNA Surgery? But then I thought about Master Peace. All you'd need to do is tribute a trap and a monster and you basically win the game outright because as far as I'm aware spell cards are more utility instead of offensive in GOAT so you're better off dodging traps instead. Admittedly I don't know a lot about GOAT though so meh.

it was frustrating to see so many main deck monsters that were submitted. GOAT has answers to basically any monster. Dark core, D.D warrior Lady, Compulsory evacuation device, solumn judgement (at 3 btw), bottomless trap hole. I had a discussion with the person who submitted eldlich and sure its a strong card but, without any of its archetype playmakers, you would be relying on a flood gate-y type deck where you need to remove your own flood gates to use eldlich. It has a ton of resistance to removal but there are ways to shut it down. I think anyone who submitted extra deck or spell card suggestions had the right idea. Morganite is really good, supply squad is good, time thief redoer is great. I also agree that grass looks greener is not as good as it sounds. Yes, you can ditch more cards but there are not a lot of graveyard effects that do things for you. Like what are you getting? Destiny hero dasher? elemental hero necroshade?? ditch some zombies for book of life? Even then, you could really just facilitate all of the usable graveyard effects with foolish burial instead.

For my money I'd have to go with Clock Arc. It's a Marshmallon that also lets you Pendulum Summon 2-7 by just using 2 copies of itself. Make all the kids back in the day's heads explode seeing a monster card that is also a spell, have to wrap their heads around the face up extra deck, and finally you'll get them believe that future Pendulums will eventually have Pendulum Scales of different values.

a few years back i ran a progression series discord and we played with post-errata cards and our own banlist. CED was actually really fair at this time with the downside and it was actually BLS that had to get banned. it run in pretty much most decks as a free 3k beater to win games with most of the time, but that honestly was pretty fair most of the time considering it still died to bottomless like most everything else

I once heard of an old debate regarding Exarion Universe where someone else briefly attempted to add just Effect Veiler into GOAT format to see how that would turnout, and everyone involved didn’t like it, but I don’t think there’s any footage or significantly different decklists regarding this experiment. I would add Black Fang Magician, without the Pendulum rules, it goes to the graveyard everytime it dies, at which point it can immediately bring itself back from the grave endlessly (yes, it loses to D.D. Warrior Lady)
