A couple things I do a little differently. Contact wash the upper half first, then contact wash the lower half after, as the lower half tends to have the most contaminants. Also, use a detail spray or rinseless as a drying aid, as the drying towel + left over contaminants are the most likely source of swirling and water alone is not a good lubricant.
@willsridecare10 күн бұрын
Completely agreed, got caught up on filming and the foam… thanks for watching and pointing it out!
@msugal6 күн бұрын
That is a myth. Good drying towel like Gauntlet or Liquid8r from TRC won’t cause swirls. I don’t use detail spray as a drying aid, but apply it after drying the car with a towel.
@TheBreakfastLover6 күн бұрын
@@msugal keep telling yourself that and take a look at your clear coat 4-5 years from now. Always use a drying aid, even rinseless wash would work.

A drying aid is like insurance..you need it just in case.. even a 'clean' car can still have contaminants
@TheBreakfastLover5 күн бұрын
@@michaelrayborn2837 correct. Another channel demonstrated that towel drying is by far the most likely step in the car wash process to cause swirl marks. And a drying aid is a excellent lubrication to reduce marring.

I live in an apartment too and I use foam all the time time when desired. I use my ik pro12 , my Marolex 7000 and 3000, my air pressurized DetailKegs, my hand held SPTA eFoamer whic was reviewed by Keav’s on cars back in October. So if there is a will there’s way. I enjoy thinking outside the box box👀😂

haha nice! I realized I really don't like spending time rinsing. But with all these great tools, it's definitely doable! Thanks for watching!

6:59 I always do tires first due to them being the dirtiest and don’t want the dirt sprayed off on to the paint after I cleaned it. If you get the chance to do it again indoors you could do it like DiyDetail does it and foam the whole car and let it dwell while cleaning the tires.

Thanks for sharing! You're right, that's definitely a great time saving technique! Thanks for watching!

I’m sure you have a drying aid back at home but if you don’t, I recommend using DIY Detail Mist. Works great.

Appreciate this well done back to basics video!! Personally, I like the soap and two bucket method. As far as the wheels, yes, I do them last. Again well done!! 👍🏻🇨🇦

Awesome video!! I always do the wheels first just because it’s what I got used to and I don’t have to worry about the paint drying out on me!! But I think I enjoy the pressure washer, foam cannon and bucket washes a lot more than any other method just because of how satisfying it is, I’m not really looking to be efficient with my personal car washes so I just enjoy every step
@willsridecare8 күн бұрын
Right I totally agree with you, it is very relaxing with all the foam and bubbles. It's nice to not worry about time and efficiency and just relax. Thanks for watching and sharing!

The hybrid line is legit 👍 I use their inside job interiors and protection cleaner because it repels dust accumulation and their tire Acrylic Graphene tire shine 👌. Because it so affordable it’s perceived as CHEAP. But when a product TURNS HEAD. That’s All you need to know 👀😤

Wheels and tires first. Wash top down to avoid lower panel ‘s contaminants.

Right, top to bottom! I do the wheel and tires after bc of that, but I sometimes just use a separate bucket if I do wheels first. Thanks for watching!
