How to determine value of a Persian Handmade Carpet and the important features to look out for

I have tried to explain some basic points that do not need expertise, to help understand the value of a Handmade carpet. These are some basic but very important points that help determine the value.

I have a large Tabriz Mahindesign with browns and greens and beige. Wool and silk. Made in Iran about 70 years old I think. It looks better every day. I try never to let direct sunlight hit it.

Hi. I am glad you enjoy our videos. You can look at reputable dealers' websites and compare your rug with what they sell. This will give you a good idea about its replacement value. Remember that condition is critical in valuation, and dealers' goods are usually in good usable condition.

New Zealand wool is high quality but not for rugs. Over years it loses it shape as you walk on it, which is why you find a lot of Pakistani rugs design becomes a bit fuzzy over the years. However, carpets withIranian handspun wool, the colour becomes deeper and the design looks better over the years
