Ah, the backhand 3rd shot drop, one of the most difficult shots in the game. I know that this shot drives people crazy, so today I'm releasing a simple guide on how to get better at it!

Did you add any weight to this paddle? If so...where did you put it?

This was great, but question: what's your instruction on how to aim your shot? I have all this technique down but am hitting in to the net or wide on this. It's so frustrating.

I had learned to try to draw an imaginary line from your paddle to where you want the ball to land. Aim your paddle in the direction where you want ball to land.

When hitting backhands, check where your knuckles are pointing. Most of the time, where your knuckle points will be where your ball goes.

If you turn your body sideways to hit the backhand your a few steps too slow getting to the net. Brutal is when you get caught in no man's land!

Well, I am not the teacher here, and would be interested in what he says, but the term “no man’s land” is long gone. This transition area is many times referred to as the “land of opportunity” because many points and set ups are in that middle area. You don’t have to be in a hurry to get out of there. So talk to a professional teacher to explain to you how to handle this transition area!

@@gofgal I think if having the choice on paying defense, I would take the kitchen line or baseline, no man's land is the necessary evil. Dont play to put yourself in no man's land by choice and certainly don't stay there longer then necessary.
