I love it....so simple, but genious at the same time. I thought you were gonna tie the running bowline as a base anchor & i was scared for you😲 Then you showed me something, ive never seen before. Perfect technique for those trees, since they are so slick and trunk diameter rarely varies. Good job, & thanks for showing

This is the only video I have seen that shows this technique. We have tall straight poplars with weak branches up high so this method may work for spikeless ascent. Well done

Genius, been trying to think of a way to do this. Once decended, will the knot loose or would you need to switch to DRT up top to recover the line from the botton?

When you're at the top, I suppose you could just pull through the throw line so it's still attached to the bowline, but hanging straight down rather than going over the top. Then you can use it to pull down the rope from below at the end. Either that, or retie the entire canopy anchor with a mid-line butterfly knot while on top, leaving enough tail to let you pull down the rope.

Hi Jason ! Could you also tie the running bowline first then clip the throw bag on to the loop with a carabiner after ? Then pull rope up into position ? Question ! Was that palm tree been removed or the fronds being lifted ? Thank you !

Please show evidence of bowline ever slipping when loaded on the correct end of the line. I have never heard of this happening and google search yields nothing.

I will change the anchor to the top eg. SRT with base anchor, DdRT with cambium saver. Tie another rope on running bowling knot if you don't change the anchor, then pull the rope to get it back when you go down to ground.

The anchor uptop is right under the canopy, so you should be able to setup drt
